About a month ago I saw a post about rendering out 2.5 canvas but I’m unable to find it.
I believe it said that you could drop as many tools to the canvas that you like and then render out with BPR.
if anyone knows about this could you please post a link.
Thank you
Any tool that you draw onto the canvas without being in “edit” mode is in 2.5d mode–it exists as “pixols” (pixels with depth), not as a 3d object. You can position a tool that is in edit mode any place you like, then take a snapshot (Shift-S by default), which will leave a 2.5d copy of the object at that position. You can do this as many times as you want, or with as many items as you want.
You can then render that canvas with the legacy renderer (Render> Best quality), but note that it will not work with BPR. BPR requires an active tool in edit mode.
Thank you Scott
You may have come across a mention of a plugin I wrote called Pixols To 3D. What this does is convert a 2.5D canvas into a displaced plane, so that it can be rendered using BPR (or sent to KeyShot). The current version is for ZBrush 4R6 (or 4R7 32bit), though I have done the 4R7 version and will release it before long.
Thank you Marcus, I can’t wait to try it out looking forward to the 64-bit version.
I just have to say how much I appreciate Zbrush Central what a great community always somebody willing to help.
