hey pix… playing with my new toy… and some info for others about this script…
- ive noticed on some native tools and imported tools it crashes zbrush…
2.ex dont try to load pix rhino tool with texture to your list because ive tryed it a dozen times… it shuts down zbrush without warning…
3.changed the view of your tools are simple… either use rotate xyz in the deform panel or manually in the little window in tools modifiers,if you use the window to place your tools you must click store to set your model…after you push store you should see the different postion in the tools panel itself… - you can place a return button at the very end of the zlist to return it back to your default…using this code will do just that…
[ibutton,“Default”,“Default
ZScript”,[fileNameSetNext,“ZScripts/DefaultZScript.txt”][iPress,7427]]
5.dont try to place a short cut on your default to open the zlist…so far it wont work this way… maybe someone out there will figure that one out…
these are just some of things that ive discovered in the program but dont get discouraged because its a awesome utility and can be a fast and effective tool to use…
pix can you please help us fix these problems as stated above…
One word:G.R.E.A.T!
OH HAPPY DAY!!!
kiss kiss kiss.
Excellent! Thank you very much Pixoloator and Zuzu! This could come in handy!
Thx , this is a very useful zscript , I’ll download it right away.
BTW : is this for 1.23b only ?
THANK YOU GRANDMASTER…

Thank you all for your kind replies
Dr.jjwow: About the orientation of the thumbnail… The ZList ZScript already allows you to easily control this orientation and there is no need to use the deformation sliders; I have added further explanation in the top of this thread. (However, if you do decide to use the deformation sliders to orient the object, be aware that this will modify the object’s axis – therefore, any further symmetrical editing will not be properly aligned with the original axis.)
As for adding ZScript commands… When modifying a published ZScript, you may inadvertently cause the ZScript to produce unexpected results. Whenever you encounter a problem running your modified ZScript, please try to run the original ZScript and verify that that the problem that you experienced is also occurring in the original (unmodified) ZScript. If you do encounter the same problem (such as storing a 3D tool) please email me the 3D Tool for further testing.

Zlist has already become my most used script hands down.
I have thought of an improvement however you might think about. Zlist allows you to store 400 different items but if you are unorganized as I am and you are adding to your list as you create items you end up having items that are ungrouped together and you have to scroll from the beginning to the position that you want.
What might be a nice addition is if you segment the 400 items
100 Materials
100 Textures
100 Alphas
100 3D Tools
and have 4 buttons that will automatically jump you to the beginning of each segment. This way you could keep “like” items together and you will only have to navigate thru 100 or less items to find the one you require for use.
Also, I have noticed that scripts like Zlist, MaterialPack and MaterialList you are not able to link to them from another script, such as your Defaultzscript. They will load fine but when you try to select an item you get an error. Is there a way to fix this? I would love to navigate through all of my scripts from the Default script.
Thanks again for Zbrush, zscripts and the wonderful utilities that you have provided us
thats a good idea digits… one thing ive noticed is you can load the zlist from the default and bring up your tools just fine however it wont let you save a tool… the only way that it will load a tool is if you load the zlist using the load script button…and i dont know about you but if you dont do this then zbrush gets wiped off your screen completely…no errors at all just puff gone…lol
howdy from australia ok zlistB is great but it keeps crashing on me it loads find but when i scroll to select more selections boom crash, im using xp z1.51 ati 8500 , please help
This is a known issue with ZList in 1.51, and will be corrected in the bonus upgrade.
Does this script work with v1.51? I am getting crashes every time a slider is moved. Same prob as with MaterialPack and others posted a while back.
This seems really cool, my trouble is that I don’t seem to be able to make it work. If I try to recall a tool, texture, alpha in any odd numbered slot I get unexpected results.
Oh boy! Can I ever use this! Brilliant! This is one of the utilities I was really hoping someone would come up with. I make my own materials & textures in particular and it’s hard to just store them in a folder, I am forever looking for the one I want.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

Well, I have just one observation about the Zlauncher. I spent about 3 hours loading it up with my favorite original, materials, textures, and tools. Alas when I went to use it, I noted that although all the thumbnails are there, some of the materials, and textures do not load. Any ideas as to why this might be?
Thanks.
Isn’t it about time Lights were added to this? or perhaps to the MaterialList zscript since Materials and Lights often go hand-in-hand?
Jaycephus,
You can save your lighting using the Light palette’s inventory control. This is much more valuable then being able to save a single light to the ZList would be, since lights work hand in hand and there are certain settings that affect the scene as a whole rather than any single light.
I strongly suspect that the people who consistently turn out images with great lighting have worked their way through several renders to find a really good setup, and then saved it. Now they finish a scene, load the most appropriate lighting file, and then just tweak things if needed. It’s a lot more efficient than saving a single light would be.
Hi Matt,
I know that I can save the Light settings. I have a bunch of them on my harddrive, and I’ve uploaded some of them to ZBC for my ZBuddies. I can also save every other item that the ZList currently works with, except Lights. But since we can save our Materials in a MaterialList ZScript, and everything ‘but’ Lights in the ZList ZScript, and since many custom materials need a custom Light setup, which you have noted and I can confirm that it takes many renders to tweak to perfection, I thought it would be a good idea to have a ZScript that lets you save the Light setup with the Material. (I use the word ‘Save’ in the sense of organizing Lights in a List alongside the Materials they were designed to work with, not in the basic sense of the word, which ZBrush already allows us to do.)
I bring this up because even though I try to save special Light setups with the same name as the material, between all of the variations I have created, and all of the ones I have downloaded, my Light and Material folders are becoming a morass of similarly named files, with suffixes like ‘_jlm1’, ‘1a’, ‘1b’, ‘2c’, etc.
Help…
It’s good to see this thread refreshed as ZList is the second most useful Pixolator script I’ve found (following Texture Master).
One note. Twice now I’ve had ZList suddenly start to store materials improperly. Both times it was right after I somehow botched a save UICustom.cfg file operation. Removing the UICustom.cfg file and saving a fresh one fixes the problem. Now I keep a backup.UICustom.cfg file which I can copy so I don’t have to reconfigure from scratch.
Thanks Pix and crew for such innovative and helpful scripts.
