thanks for sharing

Great work here. Thank you very much

Quick and to the point, with excellent results :+1: Cool Post:sunglasses:

yeah great job!
When I polypaint all the painting i’ve done gets blurred … even in 4096x4096 and I can’t figure out why.

MotleyPete, awesome tut, you kickstarted my heart :sunglasses:

sample429 - Are you painting at a high enough subdivision level? I believe you have to be at your highest subdiv level when you convert the polypaint to a texture.

yes, i try on a subdiv 6 or 7 but can’t manage to have the small details. Has it something to do with the document size?

Awesome picture! But I think the face would have even more personality if you added a little asymmetry. Human faces aren’t symmetric, even the most beautiful ones look slightly different on the left and right side.

Hi,

Awesome work man…spc. i like the last one…Congrats Top row !! :+1:

nice! good lookin out!:sunglasses:

Unfortunately, transfering the polypaint to texture maps result in tremendous loss of quality which makes it useless for production work. The tools are so great it is a pity it cannot be used.

I was under the impression that it was used in production work.

Transfer it to a hi res image, if you try to transfer it to a 1024x1024 texture you will miss a lot for sure, cause there is not as many pixels in your texture map to match all the quality you have in your multimillion vertex polypainted model

Nice sculpt and video.

I’ve gotten very nice results using Xnormal, which can transfer polypaint to another mesh with totally different layout and uv’s.

very cool poly painting demo…BUT I also watched the sculpting one.

are you using GO Z with XSI?? I thought it wasn’t available for XSI?

or am I straight trippin…

xsi that does not support
…

Great job!

This is art at its finest. It was very entertaining to watch. It was a bit hard to keep up with what you were doing but was a very different approach to the poly painting. i cant believe how good the skin looked in live preview . Thanks for sharing your workflow.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for these tutorials, i’ve learnt so much by watching them, seeing you work like this is pure gold. I would never of thought of useing the drag dots for skin detailing but it works like a dream. Thankyou.
