The Chinese people believe that inner peace is the highest realm of life.
Too much artworks depicted monkey king(SUN GOKON) as a Ape who has full of violence. But in fact is not. He is a Buddha. I tried to show this through the work… I hope you like it.

Compared to Chinese Culture, we Westerners are only adolescents. Not only when it comes to Art but also, as you write, the emphasis that is put on a well-balanced mind and inner peace and tranquility.
But Western Culture brought us ZBrush.
To me your works are beyond top row.
I also visited your Artstation page and your calligraphy and drawings ( that bridge in Home! and Yu, that fish!) are on the same level as your ZBrush works.

This time I brought new works, as you know, I LOVE the dragons. Really very, very much love. But we Chinese people thought the dragon has divine power, it does not mean evil, but a concentrated expression of Chinese culture.

I’ve been to Bejing this year for a nice project (last time I’ve been to Shanghai was for the Expo Opening Show, stunning town!). Luckily I had the possibility to meet and, let me say an “old school” artist.
We were talking about the the trend to overdo things in China, especially in my kind of multimedia show business. A bit surprising as Chinese are somehow the inventor of minimalism, just remember those breathtaking ink horses i.e.
You, dear xuzhelong, are one of these artists who can combine all of it. The amazing detail of the wonderful wood carver with the very complicate simplicity of ink painting - porcelain.
