Plagiarism (and I’ll spell it correctly for you,) is a strong word to have associated with my first venture into the ZBrush community. I would consider it a complement to Digital Tutors that their iconic tutorials are so much a part of the digital art world that some of us may not have thought it always necessary to credit the source. Like seeing someone paint themselves a Mona Lisda or something – you don’t assume they are trying to pass it off as their own original. I do see your point, and I concede that in hindsight it would have been nice for me to include credit to Digital Tutors in my personal website. That will be rectified. But I never posted anything from Digital Tutors in this forum, nor have I ever posted anything here that was not 100% of my own creation, aside from the use of a loose concept sketch drawn for me by my girlfriend, with her permission, for me to create this female character in 3D. (Thanks again Erin!) And it was her idea for me to post here, but now I’m not feeling so welcome in this community.
I do take plagiarism VERY seriously, as well as the implication that I may have done so. If anyone else comes across this thread, and you feel that I am in the wrong for any reason, please add any thoughts you may have. I’m hoping my initial “welcome” to this community won’t be an example of the rest of my time spent here trying to interact with fellow artists.
By the way XxDarkMessiahxX, last I checked, you didn’t credit the sources for those inspiration pics you’ve borrowed for your own Pumkinhead posting. That may be good form, considering the issue you’re arguing.
