The books great. Looking forward to getting stuck in to sculpting, once I finish what I’m doing.

I was wondering if this would be a reasonable forum to ask form some clarification on something in the book?

Once again Love the book Scott.

I think this should be Front paged it is well worth it and loads of effort has gone into this fantastic book.

It’s a great book Scott, I already carry it with me as a reference guide. Congrats man!

Todd

Awesome book. First I read a chapter and learned a lot, but then I watched the videos for it and followed it along with the book and I saw the light.

It is indeed a wonderful book, and to my great surprise and pleasure very usable by a beginner like I am.
I decided to try both approach, building a maya mesh (in my case in silo, it’s easy to adapt Scott’s instructions since you only need tools you will find in most modeling software) and the zsphere approach and for my first try decided to go with the silo mesh (next one will be with the zsphere model since I do plane on revisiting the book a couple of times
But I also decided to follow another piece of advice found in the book and the human male from anatomytools.com and received it today with the matching skull. I already had the wallchart and the female anatomy so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed, but honestly, I was blown away, what a marvelous piece of art. I have no doubt it will help me tremendously, but seeing those two amazing sculptures is also a joy for the eyes during the breaks (and a great motivation too). Soon, I will open a thread in the main forum to try and show my progress even if I’m a bit embarrassed to show my beginner stuff, I have heard, the zbrush community is very open minded so it should be fine
Mr. Spencer, thanks again fro this great book

Just ordered the book from Amazon. Got it overnighted, so it’ll be here tomorrow. Can’t wait to dig into this one!

This book looks absolutely great!
I loved your last one so I’ll just have to get some things out of the way first, and then I’ll buy it for sure

Incredible book. I love it. Scott does an amazing job of explaining not only how to sculpt the anatomy, but WHY things work together like they do. As an added bonus, he shows how to create and add accessories to characters, which for me is a major plus. I’d highly recommend this to not only ZB users, but also anyone looking to improve their anatomy modeling skills regardless of the software. Best ZB book out there (since Scott’s last book, that is.)

Awesome looking book…just arrived today. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to you all for the kind comments. Its such a thrill to know you all find the book useful! The best part of writing these is hearing from other artists who find something helpful in the shared techniques. Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts!

As always feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions as you work through the book.

Best!
Scott

hey scott just bought the book and its great!! and the dvd is awesome too, i’ve found them to be very helpful and i also use your facial and body gesture subtools on my current model now to make sure my height proportions are right, great and user friendly read  and now my time spent in the toilet is much longer than usual

Hey Scott, I just wanted to thank you for making this book. For someone like me, who is trying to learn traditional art skills at the same time as all the digital tools available to me, I’ve literally never seen a better resource. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while.

Dear Reader,

Just to introduce myself an attached recent oilpaint of my father, and related to that the following question that helps me to archieves the goal that I set for myself with ZBrush:

Is it possible to paint, spotlight or or texture mapping a male head in ZBrush with the kind of detail similar to the painting of my father as shown in the attachment?

Thank you Ryan,

But because Madeleine invited us to reach her more direct on her email adress, and the matter of the missing DVD is more a request to her personal, I gonna delete this email and replace it with an other question including the painting that you like so much.
