Im not 100% sure because it’s been a while since I checked the actual pixologic site, but there seems to be a good amount of info on ZB4 there. I dont know, but there are vids and Im happy.
“Use the Fresnel settings to blend multiple materials based on the angle of viewing incidence”
Holy Carp.
I think everyone is looking at the z4 pages now … very slow to load.
That feature list is just too awesome! What a wonderful piece of software!
so… whos gonna get the email
Nooo !! , Why did you post that? I was just about to go to bed
Maybe just a little peak then. I can always sleep when I am dead
Hope you guys enjoy the rest of this thread
And thank you Pixologic. I am waiting with heightened anticipation for the magic email.
Multi map export sounds SWEET AS HELL… no more scattered textures, now if i could only watch the videos lol
I wonder if we can bake ao now onto a map layer? That would be a welcome enhancement!

OMG, it did happen!
Shadowbox seems like such a dream come true for me. I hope you can get decent topology out of it from the get go.
And some of the features that were supposed to be in ZBrush 4 were released over a year ago. Others were pushed back. They could have pushed back everything. When you pay money in anticipation of something that is still in development, that is a risk that you take. Software does get delayed sometimes. But it’s not like you’ve gotten nothing in the meantime. You got the current version of ZBrush, which is exactly what you paid for. If that was useless to you without the features of ZB4, then maybe you should have waited.
If it sounds like some of the folks here are being overly patient with Pixologic, you have to understand that it’s because Pixologic has been, bar none, the most generous and customer-friendly provider of 3D software in the industry. You know when I paid for ZBrush? Ten years ago. Since then they have given me four full-version upgrades at no additional cost, including ZB4, and a number of point-release upgrades. That is insanely generous. As far as I’m concerned, they’ve earned a little slack. Now I realize that you don’t have that history with the company, but my advice is still: relax. The program is the best 3D sculpting suite on the market, and worth every penny that they charge for it even before you add in the features of ZB4. And given how they have treated their customers thus far, it’s a good bet that you will get your money’s worth out of the investment, and then some.
Here here!
Or is it hear hear?
Anyhow, yeah Pixologic gets some serious respect from me. Considering Autodesk makes you pay FULL PRICE per version upgrade, I really appreciate Pixologic’s take.
I’m excited about 4 also but to poo-poo 3 is nuts. 3 has been pretty amazing in it’s own right.
Does Pixological staff typically contribute to the threads?
This is the first time I have read complaints about them. I wonder how much of this is due to anxiousness about getting the download link.
people are just impatient. If they really didn’t like Pixologic they wouldn’t be here desperately awaiting their upgrade email
Btw, the ZB4.0 Beta Testers Forum is now active!
I don’t usually chime in on these forums but read them to see if anything new is up and out.
But my god its like no one has ever waited on an upgrade, it’s mind blowing.
NO ONE produces a program this good for this price and GIVES you free up grades.
NO other software company will treat you as well as this one does.
I just BOUGHT my update for CS5 and Magics they cost far more than zbrush.
Let’s not even discuss how much Magics upgrades are.
Pixologic is one of the most proactive companies out here. they listen and change the program to our needs. They expand and explore so many options and ideas and they GIVE it back to us
So sit back, relax, and be patient.
bask in the good work that has been done for your enjoyment and edification. Keep working on the sculpt you were working on, the upgrade isn’t going to make you sculpt better.
Relax,

I wonder if the smooth UV´s issue is solved with zbrush4
