Zbrush 3.1 Crashing to an unusable degree. Please, please, someone help.

Hi folks,

I don’t want to speak too soon, but I may have found the answer. I know Aurick mentioned this early on, but I got hold of a copy of diskeeper, ran it and basically my C drive was fragmented to a dangerous level. Also the MFT was at a ‘danger’ level (which cant be good)

So I defragged last night, reinstalled Z-b… Defragged again (to be on the safe side) and not only has the boot up window for Z-b halved in time, but when I sub-divide, it seems to take half (again) the time to do it. This has to be a good sign, right?

Keep your fingers crossed for me and I’ll get back to you later and give you (hopefully) the good news. I’m really excited, but kind or, you know…nervous!

Nope. I spoke to soon.

To give you an idea of exactly how bad my version of 3.1 is… look at this screen capture.

  1. Open Z-brush
    2)Open sphere tool
    3)change axis
    4)crash.

See how the tool distorts in the preview window?

Looks like I’ll be stuck in Zbrush 3 for ever then now, lets just hope 4 works better for me when its released.
