ZBrush 2 Boxed Set Now Available Worldwide!

Cheers for the advice guys, all this for an empty box, the madness of ZBrush…

Buckie -

Thanks man!
Gnomon has the posters available on thier site. Unfortunately they are shipped from the distribution company so I can’t sign them easily. Once I get some more here I can look into sending you some

Yeah, as Aurick says, resizing in Photoshop can actually get you pretty far. The problem with resizing is that eventually you do start to see pretty clear pixels. This makes an anal artist like me have to clean up the image pretty drastically, making it a pretty good sized job making sure it will look good at that size when printed. I actually spent about 5 hours all together with the smudge brush in Photoshop blending and smoothing the pixels. A litte bit of a correction to Aurick - I rendered the final image in Zbrush at 4096 x 4096. I never ever go any smaller than that for a final. I need to keep every bit of detail that I can - especially if the end destination is print. Someone once hinted at getting me a “special” version of Z that would allow me to render at 8k, or maybe that was just a little dream…

 … That would be so cool, but now everyone will want one…

but …will there be a boxed 2.5 version available as part of the upgrade? think I’ll wait for that…I’m running out of shelf space.

Many thanks to everyone at Pixologic, and all that support it here and in production. I have never used an application with this kind of customer service, thought, and understanding.

I’ve come to understand that the quote “you reap what you sow”, is more than just an old saying. With a product like this, Pixologic should have a harvest beyond belief.

Got mine today :+1:
The manual exceeded my expectations. I haven’t seen a color manual on good paper is quite a while. And the binding appears to be able to take a good bit of abuse… no secret what the content is like :sunglasses:

The other two booklets are nicely done also. Should especially help new users get up to speed quickly with stuff they may otherwise miss.

I hope all of this will be made available for 2.5!

Oh yeah… My DVD case was missing:confused: I’m sure Element5 can take care of that though.

the idea of having a nice pack with zbrush and the manual in colours, printed in nice paper…they are putting the honey in our lips…

I also received my boxed set today and the DVD case wasn’t included in mine either.

I’ve sent an inquiry to Element 5 about it. Though in all honesty, I feel a little embarrassed to be asking for one missing piece of packaging in an order that consists primarily of packaging. It’s a testament to ZBrush that even its ultra sexy packaging is so highly coveted.

buckie… email me and i’ll set you up with an temporary email address through my domain… petem AT oculardgi DOT com

For some reason, some of the boxes ended up not having the DVD case inside. If this has happened to you, please email [email protected] to let us know, and we will mail one to you. Be sure to include your oder ID number so that we can pull up your address, etc.

We put a lot of work into the boxed set, and I’m really pleased to know that it exceeded your expectations. Tell all your friends.

I received mine today! GOOD JOB WH :o EEEEE.
What an effort to compile THE GUIDE into the Book form. Having the quick reference handy next to the monitor is nice to. I always forget the ZSphere commands…

Thanks for the cool stuff!!!

Received package today, felt like a kid a Christmas.
My significant other had printed the manual out at her workplace.
Three hole binder was extremely heavy and not condusive to taking
to the bathroom library.
This is much easier.
Shipped withing three days, although normal ups was checked.
Very nicely packaged and slickly produced.

Final note, have seen element 5 receive some knocks here.

Have always found it a pleasure to deal with them, both phone
and email.

I received mine today. My wife got out a bib as I started drooling all over myself.
Thanks again.

I ordered the boxed set early Wednesday morning, downloaded
immediately and received the materials on Saturday.

Thanks, great program!

I also bought the download version of ZBrushBasics training:

Great combination.

I ordered then canceled it. I was just ordering the boxed stuff, but I figured if order it for version 2 I’ll be ordering it again for 2.5, and that’s just a waste of about fifty bucks. If they had all the new documentation in there I would order it before I had the app, but at this rate I’m still saving myself about $50.

I doubt there will be another printed manual before version 3.

If we’re lucky we might see a printed addendum for v2.5 but most likely a PDF.

I received my box set and it looks great. A full color manual is almost unheard of in the 3D world. A first for me. (and I have over 33, 3D programs that I’ve purchased since 1989)

I received my DVD box (slightly damaged) in a separate mailing.

I was wondering, what do I put in it? I have v1.55 that came in it’s own CD case. And the v2.0 download is only about 50 megs. The full installation can’t be backed up because of the copy protection scheme. (the user installed files can be restored but any program restore from a backup won’t work without a new licence file. I’ve already archived my installations to CD. So I guess I could stick one of them in there.

Well that is all that’s in the BOXED Set isn’t it? The 2.0 PDF’s printed?

Of course. The point of buying the box set is to get the Intro, (updated from v155), the Quick Reference, (updated from separate PDF’s and v155 docs), and the full color, printed and bound volume of the Practical Guide.

If you are happy with PDF’s then you can save money by never buying the printed manual. But in this case, $30 for a manual is a very good deal. And the fact that it is in color is an even better deal.

I had already printed out the pdf and stored it in two ring-binders. But I couldn’t pass up this deal for only $30.

My point, (that you quoted), is, that addendums are never printed, just distributed as PDF’s.

Another point is, that this manual is the first one, ever, 5 years after the product was first introduced. By this measure, the next printed manual would be out in another 5 years.

But in reality, I think they may get around to another one, for version 3x, a year or so after 3 is shipping. it depends on the demand.
