Really like your toad so far!

Just curious was it my toad that you are referring too?

Cheers

Yes Askue your toad and the grangle thread by Brettsinclair really got me motivated to going on doing something. Also I can’t wait to see an update to your toad.

Thank you so very very much for the props. I hope to have an update to show the scene some time before Tuesday.

Keep up the good work your self and if you need anything please feel free to ask.

btw I teach this sort of thing at a school in FL. were I see a lot of Cain toads.

I did some more work on the toad adding wrinkles and making the skin more wrinkly . I also decided to play around with some color and trying to give the toad a rocky type of skin.
Askue what school do you teach at I might go back to school, the program I went to was sort of a sham the called it 3d game design but they just taught us the basics of 3d studio max.

Askue I’ll have to look into your school one day I might be in your class.

Here’s an update I added some lava on the back of my rock toad and I added some detail and texture to the normal toad. Let me know what you all think.

Here’s a render with the rebuild texture for the ground, the original was 900ishbx600ish the new texture is 4000x4000. I used the original and over layed images of different rocks and used the pattern marker filter to fill in the space between the rocks with another image. Next step is to use this workflow to create a larger ground area and add in some other items to the scene.

Love the water…
And frog isn’t bad

thanks X-TrEmE

The frog needs to be reposed. He looks really uncomfortable in that postion. Unless he’s going #2, then it’s ok.

I really like the frog but I think the male body’s muscle structure is a little off. I see it happening in the frog as well… You know the muscles but you have over sculpted them. Maybe you just haven’t fixed this or you are going for the over the top muscle person, but I think the muscles should be toned down. Good work and I am looking forward to the frog!

darrickpister yes I went over the top with the muscle guy it sort of just happened that way it was just something I played with to get the hang of useing zbrush3 when I make my own base model it will have a more realistic muscle tone. As for the frog I could find a ton of resource image of the same type of frog so I just blended a few of the rounder ones I could find. I also find myself not adjusting the brush settings as often as I should so I end up with over done areas of mass. Thanks for the feed back I will try to keep the over sculping in my while I’m working.

The lighting, texturing and water look amazing! How’d you do that?

I just used a vray material for the water, it’s mostly transparent with a brown diffuse and fog color. I could post a image of the material editor if your interested.

I don’t know what was the reference for the frog, but I think it looks strange with that “lips” so big and a skin is folding really strange over her “wrists” - looks almost like some kind of cloth  But hey - like I said - I haven’t seen ref

As for the water - which is not a main thing here - I love it as well. I’ll appreciate that material editor screenshot as well!
