Yona's Little Adventures...

Excellent ! Trop la classe ce print !

Wow, that’s so beautiful! Hopefully, you’ll give us a full report when you receveive the print (I’m even curious to see some pics of the package; so many delicate pieces… how will they ship it?!?) Thanks for posting :sunglasses: :+1: .

this print is totally awesome cedric.i would be so lucky with this.
hoping i can get stuff like that in the future. how much did you pay?
desmonda made your art real. that’s so cooool.:+1:

Hi guys!
Thank you for your comments!
And you’re right! THANKS DESMODA!
his work is fantastic! most of all, he communicates a lot! if you or he have any troubles or question, he doesn’t hesitate to send you an email to fix them.

O/MI: thanx man! i still don’t know the price
stefanobernardi: thanks! the paper is made of metal so it’s very solid!
i have to check but as far as i remember the sculpt is 20cm tall.
AJ Jefferies : ahhh but you know it’s possible but it’s not free  but i’m sure that you prefer to pay for you own sculpt
Moni : thank you dear lady! i was a bit afraid too…Desmoda had to print many pieces and replace some of them by metal for this result. I think it was a huge work for them. But the result is amazing!
Disco : Thanks! ahh no top row for me man  there’s not enough Zb stuff on my thread! it’s normal
Yes there’s a lot of parts on it. I know that Desmoda had to print all the elements separated!
Fernando : thank you for your suport! sculpting these two characters was not easy so i appreciate your comment a lot
Undoz: thanks! i’m not sure because they are 2 but i think it’s a 20cm sculpture.
Derek, Nerveink, Gpepper : thanks guys!
Etcher : thanks my friend! You’re right! my main concern for now is to know how they will ship it! But i’m sure that they know how to pack that! i cross my fingers! And what about you? when will i be able to see a 3D print of your work?
Al.Tintop : thanks man! i’m sure you’ll have your print very soon too! keep working man! I still don’t know the price but Desmoda’s work worth it!

Hey Jona… been a while no posting here… there’s a lot of new things in your thread

Iv’e been admiring for a while your 2d works and I’d like to know some of your workflow for the characters… I’ve seen that you’re a camera-projection-crazyman (I usually use it for FVX )… Where does zbrush comes to play in your workflow?

glad to see the nice results on your last 3D print! how’ve you been Yona?

HI guys!

Yes i was kind of busy for the past few months. I'm am directing my first animated tv series (the one i have shown you months ago, with the rhino who dances ;) ) more over I had to direct a 1min30 pilot for a 3D animated tv project till the end of september and I'm now a daddy since July!!! :D regarding my pipeline, for the characters, i usually do my lowpoly in XSI, then even for very simple objects i use Zbrush to find the good shapes and to make the textures (polypainting and/or Zapplink). After that i bring back my characters in xsi after the retopo... It sometimes happens that i use the same pipeline for backgrounds... All my camera mapping are done in xsi. But their quality depends of the watercolor that i paint by hand..it can work with an illustration painted in photoshop too... it doesn't matter ;) Here is one picture and below the link to the pilot of my new project. When i was working alone on the first tests, i used to work on xsi and Zbrush. For the pilot as i had a team working on it, it wasn't the same pipeline. Hope you will like it. by the way how do i put the video directly in my post?

Congrats on the TV Series. The Pilot is amazing.

Looks like a lot of 2D and some 3D mixed in. Would love to know more about how this was done. Did you paint the main 3D characters with a watercolor look or is that done in post.
