Wolfman

Kinda funny…I saw the thumbnail and thought…oh cool monstermaker had a spare second and decided to add LC Jr.'s werewolf to go with your BK frankenstein…the upper part of the face from the thumbnail…just touched something…not sure…memory of a look from the older movie I guess…

anyways…nice to see your creations…and pride inthem…no matter the material, tool or forum.

“Sorry for taking up space with non ZB stuff.”

Well, I guess we’ll let it slide this time…

This looks SWEET Rick! Dang, awesome monster with a classic yet very realistic feel on it. Please, keep us posted on your progress as it goes (and the NDA allows  ).

WOW.

I’ve been jazzed to see what you were going to do with this, and I’m blown away.

So glad you are doing the picture. It’s going to be so right.

Thanks for sharing.

awesome

Hey thanks everyone I’m happy that you like it.
Bimm, no those are not CG teeth those are dentures in Benny’s mouth.
He can open it really wide.
I have to go back to work now to prepare for next week.

Amazing!

I reckoned you must be busy working on the movie!
It looks really cool, Somehow traditional Wolfman but with very much the Rick Baker look/style and Very Scary too!
Must be a dream for you to work on such an Iconic movie Legend specially with so much talent like Hopkins and Benicio Del Toro on board who basically IS the Wolfman! lol.

Heard a few rumbling over the director and what not and I don’t know much about the rest of the production but I’m there opening day just for Your creation and Benicios performance!

Good Stuff

PS How are you handling the Transformations in this one? has it all gone CG or is it still predominantly in camera FX?

Keep on Z-ing!
fishadder

savagliani, I forgot to thank you in my earlier post for downloading the old african woman. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was concerned as there is no sound. The original plan is I was going to do a voice over and it was going to be a DVD but I got too busy on the Wolfman to do it so Alex thought it would be good to put them up on Gonomonolgy without sound.
fishadder , yes it is a dream and a nightmare combined . We are doing everything last minute as the original director couldn’t make up his mind so we are doing 7,day weeks 18 hour days to try and catch up. I must say though, that it is really cool to be standing in the middle of Gypsy camp full of cool looking gypsy wagons and gypsies in the fog in a forest with a real full moon in the sky and hearing a bunch of villagers with torches on horse back riding up. I was jumping up and down with excitement. Then I knew that I was working on the Wolfman. In fact I better get back to my hair blending or it will be a bald wolfman.
Thanks everyone.

Yay!

MonsterMaker gets to do the ‘Wolfman’! Outstanding. Fantastic hair work. Have you shown this to Dick? When will you tackle ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Mummy’ and ‘The Creature’? I think there was a script of a remake of ‘The Creature’ floating around your studio in the 80’s.

That’s amazing Rick.
No better man to bring back the wolf!
Congrats…:+1:

wow this is so special. So realistic and such fine style!

Hey Rick,
That’s awesome! He’s looking pretty badass, great job!!

It’s Kind of a coincidence that I just came across this today… I was actually watching “An American Werewolf In London” last night. I hadn’t seen it in years, and it’s still the best looking werewolf I’ve ever seen (F***ing creepy) and the transformation scene still blows me away! Unbelievable work to say the least.

On the dvd extras you mentioned that you hoped to get a chance to do another transformation using a mix of traditional and computer tecniques. Will this be something you’ll be attempting on “Wolfman”?

Can’t wait to see what you come up with, Keep up the great work
All the best,
Chris

Thanks for that larger pic, Rick! Only negative comments I’ve read from classic wolfman lovers it his teeth look too big, bu tthat could be that angle.

So Rick. Did you wake up one day and decide that you were going to be the “werewolf” man? Seems to me you do quite a few of the amazing ones (scratch that to ALL of the amazing ones). I was just wondering if that was something you always wanted to do or if it just kind of happened. Either way as it stands Rick Baker to me is synonymous with kick-ass werewolves. I love how you kept to the original design yet made it just a little more wolf like. Beautiful work as always Rick! You are “The (Werewolf) Man”!

Can’t wait to see the movie!

CJ

Fantastic sculpting as always, can’t wait to see the film. How difficult/long a process is the implementation of the hair and fur on a piece like this?

this is AMAZING

Looking forward to seeing the images of the ZB stuff that lead to this. Can you say if you are using ZB to prototype/design phase? That is epic application, bet you were completely charged up working on it.
