were not alone

I love this image. I saw on cgtalk people saying they would prefer it to be colour. I think the b+w treatment is what makes it. It gives the look of the old horror movies, ‘creature from the black lagoon’ etc.

There are minor issues, I also feel the neck doesn’t look like it would hold the head. Also the specular on the eyeball looks a bit matte(Probably an easy PS fix)

Overall though, superb work. It’s one of my favourites I’ve seen on here for a while.

Maddam,
Wow! eek. I don’t live too far from Roswell, NM. Now I’m worried! I love your flow and detail.

You are creating some great work Mr. ! Not only the models are great but the lighting and general presentation is beautiful. It does look like photographs of real sculptures. Could you please tell us more about your lighting setup? Would be great

Keep it up!!! :+1:

Ha! I agree
I don’t want to start a fight here but man, to tell the truth, I haven’t seen anything done in mudbox that can’t be created in ZBrush till now. You know, Zbrush was the real revolution in the way people model in 3D. Other apps will come, all based on the “ZBrush way” of modeling but I still think ZBrush 2.5 will kick major asses for a single reason: Pixologic is well known as a creative company made by creative people. It’s very hard to create something from the ground like Pixologic did. It’s much easier to adapt something already created, adding a few more improvements. So, I bet Zbrush will come with something new and great, as always. Let’s wait and see. I just wish a long life to Z because I love it

ps: Zbrush is very easy to use. Who think the apposite, should take advantage of this HUGE and helpfull community right here

Mudbox?!whats that? ZBrush is the only app for Digital Sculpting.:stuck_out_tongue:

Fantastic Maddam.
I love that type of creature look. Very farscape or stargate orientated.

Might I suggest clamping in the symmetry a tad and removing the symmetry ultimately. Such a great creature deserves every induvidual pot mark and crease it can get.

Big fan. Cheers,

is a beatifull alien, and well detailed

Generally all the aliens look like each other. I must say that your work is very original…very beautiful pictures bravo. Nothing to said:grimacing:

Thanx again for your replies

subspark: i agree that it would be better without the sym but i didn’t want to spend to much time on it ;).

Antropus:Really glad you like it, The setup is really simple, two area light, some GI and that it. see the picture:

What do the trick is some postwork in photoshop(noise, saturation, colorcorrect…)
I’m agree with you for Zbrush. i’m sure 2.5 will be great. Pixologic, we’re all waiting for you to come up with great new idea

Whistler:here is the material i use, just the basic material with different setting.

And for the setup of MD2 in zbrush for Modo ?

Well sorry but i don’t use MD2. i just use the default displacement tool. then i flip it before exporting it. The important thing in modo is to set the low value of your image to -100%. then i just try to find manualy the good displacement value (which is very easy when you have the preview window :D)

Ok thanks

It’s more and more each evry post beautifull …

Lovely work. Very good interpretation of an alien and very creative asd plausible textures. A pleasure to see your work.

eagerly looking forwaed to your next model, and thanks for the material! :+1:

awesome modeling skills!

I really dig this alien! Nice render and a sweet model.

S

you are one of us, I’m lost, Iw’ld like to let you see my works, but I’m lost how to do it, I just try there my first contact in ZMarie-01.jpg

Just want to say, I was looking at some of your other stuff and you rock.
Got to hand it to the French when it comes to creative vision

Pretty stunning work, lots of detail. It’s well balanced, believable, and I like that it’s not overbuilt.
