In celebration of the soon to be release of Iron Man 2, here's a take on War Machine. I started this project immediately after getting home from seeing the midnight showing of Iron Man. Having reached a good comfort level with the progress after a year of designing, modeling, tweaking, and getting sidetracked by mountains of other work, I figured it was polished enough to post. The Jet boots and leg plates are basically completed. Thus far I've been using 3ds max fairly exclusively, but soon it's on to Zbrush to give it some wear and tear, possibly some heavy battle damage. The end goal is to get it as feature film quality/realistic looking/badass as possible. Loads of special thanks to Vsions for his Yoda-like guidance and feedback and Yariv Newman for being the incredible teacher and mensch he is.

must say that the level of detail on the boots is sick… must have taken some time…

man, that thing is gonna be a beast when you finish it. The level of detail in the boots is amazing. I cant wait till this thing is complete and animated blowing as many things as possible up. I like what you ended up doiong with the chest plate. :+1: :+1:

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll post more updates soon. I neglected to mention that I am also rigging this guy for animation as Vsions suggested.
