The first attempt of rotational resin casting of my Zbrush bear. Through FDM 3d printing, silicone mold making. The result is a hollow model. Then painting with acrylic

Very nice from you to share the process! :slight_smile:

Thanks Totyo!
Here is the next video. Getting a thin-walled boar head out of a thin silicone mold keyed to a hard shell.

How did you do the resin thickness? By pouring a little bit of resin and then moving it all inside the model, then redoing this process multiple time until you have enough thickness?? I’m curious about that! :slight_smile:
But the result looks just so perfect!

By pouring a little bit of resin and then moving it all inside the model

Yes! this process caled “Rotational Casting”. Something like this - https://youtu.be/o0PGDRjoDUc
But a little smaller

I’ll try that next time! Is it working as well with cold casting? Thanks for sharing the info :slight_smile:

Is it working as well with cold casting?

i have not tried cold casting yet. But why not

This is all absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for taking the time to document the various processes and methods you’ve been trying. It’s really informative and fascinating!

The wild boar cast is bloody brilliant. As a wildlife Artist (this is hugely inspiring as I try to use 3D to help my work). The modelling is as close to perfect as I’ve seen, thanks! (sorry bout attachments, forgotten how to delete!)Black85k.jpg

@AJ Jefferies, @slashpot

Do you have some ZBrush screenshot to share with us? The result is really nice!
Edit: forget about my comment, I didn’t see the link you shared…

@Totyo
look at the link in my pravious post.

Hi! Here are first photos of finished Wild Boar head wall mount resin casting. The metallic appearance was achieved using acrylic paints. I may definitely say that this is our first product of my own design and production. Now i can take it in my hands or decorate my room. Zbrush - it’s cool! :+1:
Zbrush sculpt was shown here
