it’s from the book Zbrush Character Creation…by Scott Spencer
hi VinceRizzi ! Model is looking good. i liked the detailing on the face and likeness. Looking forward for the finish polypainting it looking very promising.
Zbrush Character Creation…by Scott Spencer is an amazing book one can ask for. In this book he has explaining great techniques.
Ciao Vincezzo !
The model looks really great man. Damn ! Everytime i think i’m not bad at ZBrush, I look at your work, and then I feel bad ! Thank you buddy … you’re a true friend
almost done polypainting…
wow ! polypainting is looking superb. what matCap are u using ?
Very nice for someone not even out of school yet! Good luck with your career.
thanks man! I looked at your portfolio, you got some cool stuff. you work at ubisoft?
thats some really great work man, both modeling and texturing, realistic too, cant wait to see the final render! Good luck!
Yeah i do.
I like very much your polypainting , but I hope you will spend some time to setup nice render with sss in max , after all it counts the most . But I still give you a credit , polypainting done very well, good job. ( just for example for you to set your gudelines , in prod to do a head you have 2-3 days with from a to z, textures included) so if you have another week maybe:) try to create head and do textures in zaplink from photos ( thats what our pipeline is) Keep working hard and you will get what you want I am pretty shure about that.ALX
thanks man! Yeah last night i set up my sss and did some test renders and it makes all the difference!..hopefuly I’ll see you at ubi soon
I still got a few things to tweak
this render is much better…
Modeling is great, texturing is great. The rendering and lighting needs a lot of attention. The lighting is way too hard right now. I know you want to show off every nook and cranny of the details you sculpted, however it gives him a very un-natural plastic look. The eyes as well are dipping him into the uncanny valley. I think more work with lighting will help this look a lot better.
Also what does Ubisoft campus have to do with this? Are you currently working there, or do you intend to someday?
quick update…

I couldn’t agree more with JesseGraffam especially in the eye/eye socket area it feels like there is a light inside of him and lighting him up from the inside. The lips are feeling nice… but maybe there’s a light not casting a shadow? Not too sure. He just needs slightly deeper shadows and eye lashes… or somthing with the eyes.
you’re absolutely right…it took me a while to tweak it…and also for the skin itself I figured out why it wasn’t looking that good, a stupid parameter in sss…it takes forever to tweak to have it look good…here’s a more recent render…
Yep, the dry-one looks better:-)
Aah, his twinbrother in the subrow
