I might have preferred to see Nappa DBZ, there actually is not him, but Zangief …
The mustache is provided too, hair and beard too would be nice if they were not there …
Let us test these attributes do with less, they are now much better vision of NAPPA Dragonball Z. … but I understand everything that you do your own vision of the character …You will do full (with feet?), And with armor? This would be great!
Otherwise, what to say … except that you kill !!!:+1: :grimacing:

Thanks to all by your posts. In answer to all the ones that you says that himself does not seem or seems to zangief is because I am interpreting him in a way own. This it is an advance with the polypaint of the bust finished and with an advance of the boots and the pants. And Sorry for my english is horrible.Jejej:lol:

Awesome sculpt!!
loved those scars…

I understand that this is YOUR rendition of Nappa, but it still should look like him, no?
I think the shaved head and a bigger nose would give him more Nappa look

excellent model i do agree he looks like zangief :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Wow, you really have a great thread of work going here! Of course, Nappa is going to draw some comparisons to Zangief, but that eyepiece really helps. I think the Japanese just love that mohawk/beard/musclehead combo design, because it appears in other anime as well. Love the shark piece!

maybe the principal reasons are:

nappa does not have moustache, and its totally bald.

cheers

Looks great man i really love the detail on this guy (veins, scars etc.) But this is Chuck Lidell with a scouter not nappa lol.

That’s one evil looking nappa! I could tell who he was from the thumbnail. Its over 9000!

I love your interpretation of Nappa. I say stick with your design. If you have the Mohawk and goatee on a separate layer you should experiment on the character without the full goatee and Mohawk.

People have expectations of what Nappa should look like and you won’t be able to get away from those expectations unless you have some key characteristics from the original design. The tail and the eye piece help, but from the cartoon the key characteristics are that he is bald and has a thin mustache. If you add some of the armor I think people will be less concerned with the Mohawk and goatee.

Keep it up!

Before Nappa went bald

This is a great piece.

The difference between the front and the back look like they were done by two different people though. The front looks fantastic and for the most part the anatomy is good. The back however is just way off. I’d have a look at some body builder back shots and totally rework the back of this guy completely. It’s such a good piece it’s worth the time to totally nail it.

Also the bicepts from the front are much too wide and the tricept transition into the bicept area needs some focus. Also the deltoids should come down into a point.

In spite of my crits this piece has a lot of potential. Looks good.
