TUTORIAL - Box Modeling and Precision Texturing

Is there anyone who can explain why the edgeloopbutton is grayed, so not funcional? Before asnswering:
I opened the demo-head where I can make an edgeloop.
I deleted the eyes in the subtools
Now the edgelooptool does not work anymore
I exported the head, and after importing it again, there is no edgeloop possible.
In ZB2 I used this tool a lot, and it worked always.
Do I overlook something?

Aaaah, no one? Can’t find the logic about the ZB3-mac edgelooptool…
Aurick?

Bas the remaining mesh have to be partially hidden. You use ctrl drag to select specific portion of the mesh andin the masking subtool press HidePt andnow the edgeloop toolbecomefunctional

Hey Mario, thank you for your help. I finaly found the answer in another thread. It has to do with subtools, if there are no subtools the edgeloop is grayed and not funcional. A bit strange and I hope in the next version it works more logic.

im having a problem at the very beginning- where your ‘reconstructing subdivision’ to make the cube have fewer squares- mine wont seem to do that- everything else worked fine but it wont make a lower res for me :S

In 3.1 and 3.12 you can use the PolyCube3D that is found in the ZTools folder.

Hi,

in tool palette under texture click “enable UV”. Then you can reconstruct subdiv… :+1:

He Ian, welcome

In 3.1 after you hit make unified sjkin and redraw it wont reconstruct subdivision…so I can get to one poly per side…What am i doing wrong…

wow theres my naswer…maybe it should be asteriked in tutorial

Ahhh  the images in the tutorial are down

This thread is 9 years – and many ZBrush versions – out of date. There’s now much better stuff available. Check out the video tutorials here, for example: http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/#digital-sculpting and http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/#texturing
