Very entertaining image and story, i really like th expression on the faces.
Fine image my friend !
I could do with spendind some time there!
seems hospitable.
I have to say its cute, its wild, and its coming along nicely
Nice going my friend. You are doing a fantastic job. I must try to take a few hours to do an image one of these days and see how it comes out. I have a hard time waiting for wax to burn out never mind spending days on a carving. I do have a lot of patience with animals though.
Great stuff Stonecutter.
Love those little dancing heads
Makes me think of George Bush and the oil industry lobbyists.
No need to complain about the slow progress. The time that you’re taking to do this right is going to really pay off. I’m really enjoying seeing the progress.
Nice going stonecutter, wonderful story and a great WIP.
geeeeez…you have worked yer butt off on this one…I love those red skulls too…very nice touch…and the coloring is just awesome thruout the image…how many hours you think you have in this one so far?
I go away for a little bit to do a simple frogperson andI come back to masterpieces…makes me wanna work harder for sure…
Thanks Ron…I never really think how many hours I have in anything…
Also, in my studio, I can get up, walk to my carving bench, turn on my flexible shaft machine, grab some rock, and do some matter modification…Good for contrast. I also work on different projects at the same time, opening a folder for a project as soon as I think of an idea…Then everything to do with that project goes in there. Keeps things really well organized.
I LOVE this! I LOVE this!
I LOVE this! I LOVE this!

not bad.
I just gaze in awe everythime you do an update.
I really like your image and also the story Mike. Thanks for sharing the update.
This is certainly going to be an excellent image. Thanks for the folder for each project idea, that would save searching the chaotic mess I have in my computer for items relating to one image. I have often found I’ve deleted a file I needed, thinking it related to something I’d finished.
Dave
Wow Very nice Arm-Hand -‘Blood Bandage Bracelet’ -fangs-Really Great scene!!-why havent I commented earlier???—It says last updated jan 11----I thought it was Der Older Vun!
RoBo, in order to make it more instructive and helpful, I’ve been updating each little stage, so anyone who comes in can maybe pick up an idea…I don’t add a reply, which would move the thread to the top, just add a new version, and a brief comment. That way, anyone intersted, sees the lil’ thumbnail, and checks it out…
(My next full update will include the entirely finished Troll King, followed shortly afterward, by the finished image with everything in it, and all post-production…In Z of course.
(And RoBo…? It’s a dirty bandage, not a bracelet…Not enough blood??)
As I said in the above post, this baby is coming to the finish line, and this is my last update before posting the final image…( Then I wait for the real-world renderer and this will be the first re-rendered!)
SC, my friend, You have the patience I had when I was a lot younger, It must really be a virtue as this image of yours, with which you are having so much fun, is a good example of planning , dedication, and proficency. I hope the newbies, and others are all following your progress, as it can only be to their benifit.
Damn !!!
this is Super FINE!!–whole lotta Life here! final pic please!!-
It will be beyond Fantastic!
wow mike this is awesome … thanks for the update by friend…
Mikey…I likes it!!! How big is the final image going to be? You know I seem to come across this WIP very often and I wait with anticipation for it’s completion. Well done my friend, well done!
Hey Mentat!
First, I have been adding little bits without posting new replies, so it doesn’t come to the top, as I told RoBo…I figured if people wanted to see how it proceeded, they would take a look.
Now, size…I usually work in default ‘doubled’…This results in a 17 X 13 approximate size, which I reduce to 12 X 8…(Only an approximation, since there are decimals…)
And THANKS for pointing out how slow I’ve been!!! (I’m kidding…!)
This has taken quite a while since I’ve been endeavoring to produce a final version that I would be satisfied with…(And it’s also been hard to stop because I’m having a ball with it!)
