A little more progress. Terrain, although simple enough, is hand sculpted in ZBrush.
I absolutely love it!
Thanks Jon! Oh god, how about that TAD thing? Incredibly frustrating and sad.
Well… I think I’m done here. I’ve could keep detailing etc, but it’s probably best to use this momentum and move right on to another personal piece.
Love this! Beautiful illustration and lovely work in this thread
this character Bafs is AMAZING! what material did you use? and how did you create it? im working on some frog creatures and this material would be PERFECT! how do i create this?
Curly, that render/framegrab/BPR is pretty “old” and I don’t really remember what I did to get it. I’m guessing it’s a dualshader combo of one of Raph’s sculpy mats with a default “toy” material on top. This might be enough clues for you to build something that you like.
Who loves My Little Pony? Here’s Fluttershy and Discord. I was contracted by I LOVE FINE to digitally sculpt this pair for rapid-prototyping. I built the initial base mesh in 3ds Max, and it was rebuilt in Maya by my friend Dennis Cornetta. Then back to my desk for Dynameshing and detailing in ZBrush.
This is the physical painted prototype:
You’re amazing. Incredible work! Insta-fan, here.
Here are a few BPR’s out of ZBrush showing the digital sculpt in progress.
I can guarantee you one thing, my daughter would definitely want that.
Love it! It turned out great! Can you tell me who did the 3d printing and painting? It looks great!
For most projects, I handle the rapid-prototyping and painting directly. In this case, We Love Fine used their own team.
Here’s the original concept art by Sajira, if you’d like to compare the sculpt and the control art:
A couple of designs by my buddy, Chris Ryniak, which I sculpted in ZBrush and had printed as part of an upcoming project with Cardboard Spaceship…
Cute.
Love both of them – great work!
good job
are you rendering inside zbrush?
Pabgo - sometimes I render in ZBrush but mostly in VRay back in 3ds Max. When I do render in ZBrush, I keep it simple - one material, soft shadows etc, then pop the raw over to Photoshop for a quick tweak. Not much too it. They look like this:
Cool!
Sculpted in ZBrush…
Rendered in Keyshot…

Keyshot is the BOMB!
Nice to see you giving it a try Scott.
