Tortoise and Hare Development Page 3 9-04-02

Still chugging along with this one. Almost there though. Added beads of sweat, butterflies, leaves, and rabbit back in. Please let me know what you think. Thanks again for all of the constructive feedback.

This has turned to be really sweet. You’ve done a super job.

A very significant update :warning: yjos omahe is really coming along admirably :warning: :+1: :+1: :+1:

The distance is great

Love the turtle and the hare

The tree is too distracting, many times my eye goes to the tree first

I like the bottom of the tree, but don’t like how most of the branches have a strange taper at the end

Love the flowers and grass

Suggestion:

What about putting the hare to sleep? What if the hare was slumbering on the little hill to the right, blissfully unaware that the turtle had just passed him?

love the changes, the leaves and butterflys are great!!!

To date, what you have done here is very good work. The variety to textures throughout add a livelyness to the image I’m enjoying tremendously.
Still love the tortoise’ expression. If you, as you say, are still ā€œchuggingā€ along with this one, the tortoise is definately chugging along as well. With the hare in the background, the action is captured extremely well.
The tree: looking at it, it seems the branches end a bit quickly. More leaves would hide that effectively.
Another, possible, option may be to extend them over the tortoise, toward the far right of the image. Keeping them high enough that the hare isn’t obscured, the branches would act as frame for the image.
Overall, though, this is such an enjoyable image. And again, as you state, you are still ā€œchuggingā€ along with it. The finished piece will be a pleasure to view.

How did you make the flowers and the butterflies?

I like this latest update. I see you got the butterflies figured out

KingSalami…I simply made 3D objects from alphas for the wings and the flower. I set the make 3D parameters to MRes=256 and MDep to 2. That way you get good smooth objects, but not thick ones, perfect for wings and flower petals. Once I had made them I simply moved them a bit to make them less flat. The butterfly body is a ZSphere tool, and then I just Multimarked it with the two wings. I hope my illustration below helps. I hope I am clear on this. It’s easier for me to do it than to explain it. I hope I get better at explaining. Perhaps you can use different setting too for you alpha 3D objects.

P.S. I didn’t need a lot of detail for this image due to the nature of it, in fact the less detail the better on these objects, but you could definitely add the detail.

If these do the job for you go for it. I think they fit in very well and do not degrade the image in any way. :+1: :+1: :+1:

love the way you did the butterfly :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Final Render on this guy! Thanks for all of the great feedback during this one, and I still might go back in and add that rabbit lounging against that far post. We’ll have to see. As for now, I believe this one is done. Let me know what you think. Thanks again to everyone! By the way, this is completely ZBrush, not other application was used. That was one of my goals starting out, and I am happy to report I achieved it. Enjoy!

very nice finish to this cute piece…love that tortise… :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Bravo! :+1: :+1: :+1: So much to look at and like, action, a great story. Very well done!

Wow, that tree really turned out beautiful. I still like the tongue hanging out on the early version, but the look of determination on his face really adds emotion to the image. The final has a truly magical, fairy-tale look, great job :+1:

All your time was well spent, and this fine image is the payoff for the investment!

 :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

I agree Tami - that little touch made me laugh too.

But B-R-A-V-O on an excellent finish to a project that has been a joy to watch. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Very well done :warning: congratulations :warning: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:
