Tom Cruise

[deleted]

It’s not my intention to disturb anyone’s sensibility with what I said. I just hate the guy.

I think the general look its OK, but you have some proportion problems. I tested scaling the head narrow and scaling higher just the chin and just the forehead, and think that is nearer to Cruise…

Sorry for my english. Uploading an image for better understanding. cruise.jpg

Thanks for the critics guys. Here is the last version before quite a long time, I need to go on something else

PS : yeah, I still plan to do the hair in real 3d

k0sm1k : you may not like the guy, but I think this kind of speech has no place in a forum like this one (I’m not especially a big fan of TC, but I would react like that for anybody else)

Cheers

He is not looking like Tom, but the mesh and the photo are ok. The eyes, nose, mouth and jaw (face) needs some more work. Keep brushing! :+1:

Newest version loos good. It might not be 100% but is sure close.

Texturing is great.
Top row stuff

Overall it looks excellent, but I think your model’s eyes are not quite the same shape as Mr. Katie Holmes’ eyes…

The edges of the eye are narrower than you indicated and the tallest part of the eye is right near the pink of the eye. Its a triangular shape more than a ovaluar shape. The current eyes make him look less scientologist you know and like he doesn’t have the ability to zap opera with electral scientology beams.

great model ,u are almost there man keep it up:+1:

Would you like to post your light and material settings? The skin nad lighting are exceptional.

oooooook, never know when to stop, so just not now

Wow, each update is a great improvement. His jawline looks a lot better but the bump under the front of his nose looks a bit droopy imho. His eyes look a bit off but I’m not exactly sure how. Maybe too hawkish but still it’s looking really good.

Frickin’ hot my friend, keep it up.

very fine update…I have saved a few of these now to my screensavers…love your work.

Been scrolling between your last two posts, and it’s hard to see exactly what you’ve changed … but whatever it was, you’ve suddenly ‘got’ him. I’m going to grab a copy of both pics and study them at leisure, as I think there’s a good bit of learning to be had here. Very nice work. :+1:

hi joebount,

really nice work!

from the angle of the render, my only nitpick is that his cheekbones seem
too wide making his head look “blockier”.

cheers.

This is coming along really nicely. One thing that I noticed off the bat, is that if you look at the photo of Tom, the tops of his eyes really slope downward as they go outwards to the sides, whereas yours are very symmetrical, almost “almond” shaped. I think if you replicate that downward slope, a simple adjustment, will really send it forward by leaps and bounds. :+1:

I was going to say the same about the eyes. A minor adjustment that should really improve the likeness. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: Still great work

I think that the slight smile in this one really helps with the likeness

This is 99.9% there. Fix the eyes, and your done! One of the best models I have seen.

Now how about those Light and Material settings??:):):):)

wow i must say very nicely made … well done…

now you can make tom do anything, like be in a good movie

 your work is great
