The new generation: Intuos 4:

anybody upgraded from Intuous 3 to 4?.. how does it compare?

Salmongod by the look of things made with the 3 it wont get any better!
Now they can only bring it to rediculous sensivity levels.
Just like what they did with tvs over the last years… more and more
resolution. But at the same time movies get worse

Im a little pissed actually i bought a intuos 3 a5 wide from a friend for
230€ and now im seeing the intuos a5wide for 300 in the dearest shop here  i guess 70 for a new generation and 2 years warranty wouldve been a
reason to get one… a what the heck intuos 3 looks better ^^

hi friends.
I wnat to bye an intous 4.
I have 22" samsung LCD.
I want to know (intous 4 M)a5 is good or (intous 4 L)a3
Please help me.
thanks:)

Got an Intuos 4 for Christmas last year and I have to admit, it totally ****ing blows for sculpting in ZBrush. I use the mouse 90% of the time because the tablet is un-workable. I’m using Win 7 64 bit. Before this I had an old Intuos 2 that was wonderful, but the interface just freaks the hell out with the new tablet. Sucks. I hate it.

anyone have a nice setup for the intuos4 with ZB4 ?
please share…

thx

there must be something seriously wrong with your tablet or drivers or whatever else.
got an Intuos 4 on win7 64bit and have no problems at all. works just as good as any other intuos I had.

I have been using the Intuos 2 for a while now, and have just ordered a Intuos4 medium. For anyone interested, I will be making a video review comparing both tablets using Zbrush 4, and Photoshop.

Hello,

which Intuos is the right one to work with Zbrus 4 and cinema 4d, I guess
the Intuos4 Cad version isn’t the right one???

thanks

all you need is the regular Intuos 4.

yea the regular version would do pretty good

I just found a very good deal on an “Academic Intuos4 Medium Pen Tablet.” When you goto this site:
http://www.provantage.com/wacom-ptk640ac~7WACM19N.htm

Click “Add to cart”
I see the current price is $278.56!

I was concerned about the difference between the “Academic” vs “Regular” version of the device and found this discussion:

http://www.amazon.com/ACAD-Intuos4-vs-Wacom/forum/FxMAZP46AP5ZJG/Tx18WX2S4CU9F1C/1?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B0023RT0QI

I’ve never made a purchase with Provantage so I took a look at thier track record:

I think I’ll take the plunge. Hope this helps anyone else looking to make the purchase.

FYI,

You have to provide proof (photo ID or enrollment docs) that you are a student to get the discount. Otherwise you have to buy the “Regular” version.

I found a regular version here for $309 (Shipping was $16):

Looks like this is an ok vendor:

Intuos or Cintiq? That is the question…
