The MatCap Library -- Now Available

This is great! I just have one request: It looks like you can download each MatCap material individually. If a person wanted all the materials-it would take a long time to download them one by one. How about adding a button that also lets you download each library?

Thanks for putting this together! I would add another voice to the requests to download all the matcaps together, and in fact, the UI displayed above might be helpful in ZB. Like the alpha& Tex loader kind of with a preview like this. Either way , great work Pixologic, and thank you!!!

Also, right now I cannot download any since the Flash doesn’t seem to be coming up with a download button. It might be less “flash-y” but a .zip file by groups would be easier to download and use.

I thought I had them all, but there’s a bunch on here I haven’t seen before… and a service like this is sure to encourage much more contribution – great job Pixologic

Question - is this library strictly matcaps only, or will standard materials be accepted as well?

I would like to ask the plug-in can zbrush material into the material 3dsmax9 you?? There are no pictures of course, I am a Chinese who do not understand English …:o

Yes, I think there must be server problems - some of the plugin download links are down too. I’m sure everything will be back up ASAP.

Oh this is good! I was just getting frustrated searching for metcaps in the forums 5 minutes ago, and haven’t checked the download center for updates in a week. Damn it, Pixologic rocks!

Is there a tag or little indication to point out which materials have been newly added? If not , might not be a bad idea to add it.

I’m getting the following message for any and every download from the download center

This server can only be accessed by the proper referring server.
Does anyone else have this problem?

This is Great! having a library of materials is an awesome idea. it did take me however the better part of an hour to download all of the materials individually. Now for the question, how do I import them all in together so that they are viewable with the thumbnail in Zbrush and they STAY in the library? I can go to material/load and load an individual one, it puts it in the user material area, but it would be nice to have something similar to the alpha and texture library tools to view them all together. using a mac, they all load great, but if I want say, an antique GOLD, I have to individually load each material that is titled such and then choose from one. Believe me this is much easier than before where we would have to search the forum for one at a time. whoever built the alpha library tool, I would love it if you could do one for the materials…
