Damn cool materials, nice to play with them. I made this ugly little guy this afternoon, probably one my usual forever lost quick models. I had to try the new mats and lights on him, tweaked a bit, of course.
Thanks again for your contribution, Mahlikus.
Silvaticus~
Oh my god can I please get my hands on that lighting setup of yours!
AWESOME!!!
Of course, but not right now. I just closed Zbrush and didnt save the light setup. It
s your light anyway,Ill just give it back, hehe. Tomorrow I
ll post it.
Alright then, I’ll just try to simulate it until then. Looks like a really nice daylight render.
That it might be different.
Fantastic materials Mahlikus ! and very generous of yours, thank you very much
here’s my cutie
BRAVO SON!
That looks wicked Kick!
LOL…I’m all smiles. Great stuff!
Hi there mahlikus, first off, congrats on such nice materials!!!
On the other hand, is it me or is it that when using any of the materials you’ve kindly shared with us, does it slowdown the viewport performance?
If this truly is a bug or something, is there a workaround, I’d love to use your materials, they look awesome!
btw, I’m a complete zb n00b and I’ve installed the zmt in the materials folder, and the zlt to the lights folder, and afterwards I load them up in their respective Light/Material sections inside ZB…hope this is right.
Once again, thanks for your kind sharing and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the setups
You all are very welcome and I am glad that I can give back.
As for the viewport issue, they are colorized trishaders so it you have low memory, low space on your HD, a low Video card, slow processor, or even all of the above then yeah, it will have an effect on the system.
Hi there again Mahlikus, well I have a Core Duo system with 4 gb of RAM, 250 HD and an nvidia 7800 card, is this not enough to display it perfectly in the viewport?
Thanks again for your kind response.
Holy crap silvaticus!! The render looked photoreal, even after a little look, it still looks like you photographed a real sculpture. Amazing! Hand over the lighting setup!!
I hope it works, I never posted a light setup here before. And honestly I didnt think I will do soon. A year ago I was telling lots of "wtf" to myself while looking to Mahlikus and others
renders and mats. Thanks for the appreciation.
It seems it works, enjoy!
Besides the light itself I used: contrast 25, brightness -40 and also moved a little bit the red, blue and green curves. The blue up, the green and red down.
I’ve been working on a skin material for a personal project and figured it might work to come close to the aforementioned ZB3 shader Pix used. This material is not too far off from the settings of the skin materials I used on my Santa and alien bounty hunter images. And actually working on this material gave me ideas for my next skin version.
So enjoy! Let’s see some nice models with it!
Thanks Silvaticus.
Did my own tweaking and playing to find a nice bright daylight render.
You know what I remebered…?
I could use more then two or three lights?!
I know, I know…it’s been a while.

Do you guys actually sculpt using this shader, or do you just render with it? I say this cause I don´t like the way it moves in the viewport and if you scroll up and see my PC specs, I don´t think it should move this way
Oh I have a completely different setup for sculpting.
This is just a render setup…for me anyway.
Ohhhh there ya go, I was frightened for a moment, GREAT WORK Mahli, CONGRATS on your shader, GREAT FOR RENDERING NO DOUBT AT ALL!!!
On the other hand, if you have a nice little shader in your bag o tricks for sculpting, it´d be great…I´m kinda tired of that old gray one
…the simulator of next versions
