The Dryad

Great renders u got there.Amazing atmosphere and mood:+1:
Keep it up:)

Great forest modelling my friend.Looks very fantasy!!

But I think that if the title of your work is the DRYAD,you must give more space and evidence to the forest female-creature.

Another thing,in the irish (and nordic) mithology the Dryad is a nature spirit that lives into an OAK.Maybe this will be useful for you.Why don’t you try to model an Oaks forest?I think that this would be a damn cool work.

Hope to be useful,MattHHH:cool:

Thanks again for the comments guys -

Matt, you can see The Dryad in the first post - the image has since become something else, as sometimes happens, but I couldn’t change the title of the thread! You never know, a Dryad may appear in another iteration.

Frenchy thanks so much for the links - I have to say I’m happy to model my own trees, they’re such fun to do! (with only the three ‘branch tools’ above you can create an unbelievable level of complexity)

As for Froyd’s wonderful tree textures, that’s what I’m using already!

Cheers,

Phil

Very nice!!! Only thing I’d change is that the interior light shining out should be more yellow (warmer). It would look very inviting then. I’d move right in 8-).

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well.

I thought I’d post the latest evolution - I’m moving on to designing the creatures who’ll inhabit this world.

Very nice! When I visited Oregon and the Rain Forrest there, it had the same atmosphere. Except for the friendly lights:laughing:.

That is pretty cool looking.

I love this image, I’m definately eager to see what you come up with for your creature designs. I also really love how you’ve worked with negative and positive space in these pictures. Cool stuff.

pestopants.

I love it from top to bottom…even if not knowing what lives down/up there

I love trees and woods…and specialy creatures living in there! What are you thinking of; Elves :qu:
I hope it wont be any bloodthursty creatures of the horror kind…yikes…

There’s one thing: Where are the leafs?? Are you making any leafs :qu:

I will follow this closely very very nice!!!

Thanks for sharing

Hi everyone,

I think this’ll be the last of this bunch, I got as much detail/depth as I could into this scene and added the figures to give it a sense of scale. Thanks for looking, and take care. Will post higher-res version when I get a chance.

Cheers

i love the little lights so much :
your picture will replace meat’s pics on my desktop’s wallpaper!

Uh…, the lights? Try to make some lights and make the background more dark (contrast with the lights). Use a dark fog and resize the figures (more big). Add som reflection at the material of the wings! Hmmm, maybe I ask a lot but try it! I like the way you tried to make a scene and I like to see you get the max. result out of it. Keep going! :+1: :+1:

BTW, I missed the first pictures and they look good with nice lights and bright fog. Why you changed the lights in the last pictures?

o yes i agree with bas
the lights were better before!

ps :
imho. maybe the little characters could produce some kind of glow and be another light source? that way you can keep it contrasted

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Take care,

Phil

oooooba… oooooba!
I love it! I normally gag whenever I see faerie imagery in art, but yours is so tastefully done. I really enjoy the atmosphereic depth, it feels really alive. Sweet deal.

pestopants.

I appreciate that pestopants - glad you avoided gagging!
