no masterpiece but wanna share it anyway:
great fets! just miss the Banana of Rtyer… :))
Fantastic gorilla, saw the thumbnail in the home page and went looking.
When you put the earlier posts feature on this, you will have something extremely worthwhile.
This is a tricky one to view because of diffrent screencalibrations. It looks pretty good on mine but because of the delicat blackness I can’t garantee anything on an other screen.
Anyhow, there is a question: why do the teeth look like they’ve been badly added in photoshop? It is all Z! I’ve tryed playing with shadows butit keeps looking bad. The left one without teeth looks more natural. 4 information: head, eyes and teeth are on separat layers.
Maybe you enabled flat material Color ?

THx Frenchy but how (where) do I do that?
I gave it a shot with only one lightsource and feel that it looks better, doesn’t it? Better but still not 100%
Beautiful gorilla head
May be try to use a material like “toy plastic” for the teeth and play with the regulates and increase their definition

That last one is really nice & scary!
Always good to see a work progress like this
Hi Fets, good stuff here. You might try turning the ambience down and the diffuse up in the material panel or try another material. Show us somemore. 50.
Beautiful gorilla, eyes, and teeth but it is too dark even on my monitor and I have a pretty decent video card. That’s what I’m also finding with my models. I think they look fine on my monitor and then some friends with cheaper video cards find they are too dark. Gotta’ consider the average user, I guess.
Still, beautiful modelling and texturing job.

Is this better? I know it’s still not 100% and has more potential, but I’m actualy kinna proud of this one.
There’s some minor photoshop done on the shadow on the back of the tongue.
I like the next one more (autocontrast) but here same remark as previous: not every screen has the same calibration
a small experiment with materials and dept cue but I don’t really get the c(l)ue…
Hi Fets the last 3 post are great¡¡
I like very much the texture¡
Congratulations

Can PLEASE anyone help me out on this one?
On this last picture I keep trying out things with the deptregulators. I think I’ve checked all posibilities but I can’t get what I want: very blurry in the back (eye area) and very sharp ao the nostrils. What are the dept settings? I I’ve tryed about every combination but …noppe. Please
?
Give this man a cigar!
I finaly found the solution myself (in the manual) and the answer is so simple that I don’t know if I should be satisfied or hit my head against a wall.
It might be a help to someone: just drag the first slider to a point on the canvas that you want to be the nearest (sharp) and the second to the point that you want to be the farest (blurry). Best render and taraaaah kaboom…
ps. I will now stop posting experiments with those same images over and over again.
