Awesome work! quick question: in your image layer documentation post, how did you layer the passes in PS?

amateur question: where did you find out how how to create the passes and layer them?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, I’ve been waiting for this. Now I understand why we haven’t heard from you for so long. It looks stunning, awesome job Zack!

Amazing work, Zack! Proving your skills again and again. I’m going to have to finally try the layered rendering in Zbrush. It looks really great.

Incredible! I love it! May I ask in which steps you have combined the renders in PS?

Thanx,
MM

Loving this! It’s really great to see zbrush being used in so many ways lately!

Zack, you’re an ANIMAL!

I’m glad the project you’ve been working so long on is finally coming to fruition ! I like the expression’s a lot

Great sculpts, great layout, & the letters are perfect too! They make it keep that good traditional comic feel.

 cool

Theres so much detail in the alchemists workshop - did you model everything there?

this is so cool… really nice stuff:+1:

WoW!!! Excellent . … this is awesome !!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

I love this, man. You took your love of comics, sculpture, and digital media and made something completely new and original.

Thanks!!! To answer a few questions-

-Every prop in the Alchemist's laboratory is a 3D model, but if you look closely you'll notice they are largely modified duplicates. One notable exception is the tall distillation column and the vapors it's emitting (screen right near Adam). It went through a fairly involved ZB pass. I'll see if I can post a few images later. -Each layer is rendered in ZB then brought into Photoshop. I've attached a few images that outline my layer settings in PS. Additionally, I often erase specific parts of each layer to achieve my desired results, i.e. I might erase part of the highlight layer to keep it from overlapping my shadows. -The render and material settings for each pass in ZB are a bit "involved". I can try to post a few images that illustrate them, but it might be easier if I just try to create a video in the near future. Thanks again guys- I appreciate the support.
