This is Ian Thorpe, measured against your guy. Apparently, Mr Thorpe does a reasonable doggy-paddle. I’ve put some guidelines in to show you how the top half of your model is looking good, but how the lower half is out of proportion. hth.
Thats even more helpfull that a over drawing. Soa tad longer in the thigh and the rest from the shin with some calf enlargment.
Hope you dont mind me using your work exsample but here are the legs from my model, keeping in mind iv used only visual references not calculated ones.
Thanks Moochie, thanks tez.
Moochie…yep I would say he has a “reasonable doggy-style” lol. I see what u mean…now. Me blind.
tez, body building…cool. Well I cant really just look at people and say this should be like this…or the other way…I cant. And its not the lack of practice I actually had art history for some years…Its a bit of a problem for me really. Human shapes, specially faces.
I’m off to work now but will be back to try and improve my model based on these. Thanks folks. Very cool.
been watching this tread with intrest due to the original being quite a way out in proportion and i think you got it :).
a good ref should always be 1st thing when working from life imo nice work on the redo
Yup. Just a couple of things to watch out for from the picture of Ian Thorpe. First, he has famously large feet, so don’t replicate those. And his strap-on Hellboy stumps are probably unnecessary.
so these 2 blue bumps on my head aint normal?
If they’re blue, then you should call in sick in the morning. Antibiotics, def.
Bit of work done on it. Think I’ll go check the liquid simulators shelf and see what can be done with those.
That’s more like it! Good stuff.
Thanks Moochie, think i’ll get to do him a cloth speedo and then go round the water thingy, damn I have to go to work…oh well.
