Good stuff man i remember the drawing of the tentacle guy from school. Your gonna be great someday i can see it.
Hi,
nice symmetry experiments. And i did and do like the tentacles
thing,too.
Keep going!
SpiritDreamer - Thank you Sir!
mnmava - Hey Mike, thank you for commenting. I still appreciate the techniques and time you took to help me get started with ZBrush. You inspired me - thanks man! Hopefully one day I do get really good - practice makes perfect
hosch - Thanks hosch!
jmeyer - Thank you. Glad you liked them! I will keep going
Sweet updates Stephen, well done are you working with Z-Spheres? you could try a few dynamic poses with the lizard Man…
Thanks! Yes, I originally made the Lizard Man and the Insect with ZSpheres, but had converted them so I could sculpt on them (removed the ZSpheres). I’ll have to use transpose to pose them now. In the future I’ll change my process. I have learned a lot over the last few weeks about workflow. I still need to work on that though
Trying to get the hang of transpose - awesome tool!

Very nice! He’s coming to life! he could be great as a 3d print too
Awsome artwork, I extremely love the first cyborg one.
Thank you for your advice earlier, and i love your artwork. keep going.
Nick - Not sure how far I’m going to take him. Might start back up on the insect creature. I wish I could afford to make a print One day!
Comrade420 - Thanks Comrade. Glad you liked the alien cyborg
Did a bit of work on this guy last night. Still need to add the feet, stinger, and finish the texturing. I also plan to pose him as well.
Beautiful sculpture
Nice Sketchbook. You’ve got some interesting subject material there with great execution.
Thanks AR-MAN and Ulysses1984! I appreciate the comments I am working on finishing up the Insect Creature. Hope to have him up soon.
I finally got him posed! Really enjoying the tools in ZBrush and all the options to get something done. The forums here are a great learning resource - thanks to everyone for the tutorials and continuous inspiration

Excellent update Stephen, the insectoid guy in all its glory! what I would suggest to you is to try a bit harder on a light rig that will show off all your modeling/texturing work even better. This creature is truly great piece for your reel!
Thanks
I do need to work on my lighting skills in general. I feel it is one of my weaker areas right now. I used this project to learn how to adjust the lights in ZBrush, so I think I will be able to do better as I create more models and more projects. Practice, practice, practice!
Nice insectoid yourself any advice on transpose vs zsphere rig in 3.1?
You have a lot of cool sculpts! The insect is really cool looking. I love the details and texturing. I like the lighting for the insect. It gives the piece atmosphere. Good job!
lucaswschmidt - Thanks! I used transpose and found that to be really easy. I thought at first it might be difficult, but found that because of the joints there was enough room to easily move the segments into position. I have done the rigging with other experiments, but I have not had enough practice at it to use it efficiently yet. I went to the lowest subdivision (I had 4 divisions) and then posed him. Then went back to the highest subdivision and the details stayed nice and crisp this way. Hope that helps
antisymmetry - Thank you very much! I do need to work on lighting in general, but I did think the moody lighting in this one worked fine. However, if I had put him in a scene I would have to redo the lighting altogether I think.
Thanks for taking a look guys!
