I like the new direction of the funky assassin. Very rightfully your action hero should be shown here too! It was a great entry. Nice sketch of the lizard warrior. Looking forward to more on that
Thanks Captain for the encouragement , I really liked the sketches and ideas you posted in your thread, really looking forward to the new model of Nitrate
.
Well I have worked a little bit more on Krilin. I got rid of the body and decided to make him a bust, that also freed up lots of polys to detail the head. I was thinking it would be cool if the head sat on a DragonBall, But I haven’t worked out yet how to make the connection tidy.
So i cleaned up a little bit the mesh, smoothed it out, added pupils, and started painting him up. Still need to do abit more details, will do the eyebrows as separate meshes, and redefine the dots on his head.
Anyway this is the way it’s going:
Well finally finished Krilin . Ok so he didn’t end up the way I initially would have liked, but I learnt alot from modelling and painting him, and I think he turned out looking like the cartoon character.
Well I think I have improved since “Choco Girl” definately think Krilin turned out to be a much cleaner model (I hope).
Next back on “The General”.
Unfortunately yes, Krilin Again! I was happy with the head but didn’t like the fact he had no arms and torso , so have decided to get parts from my original model and put them together. I am also going to change the colour of the eyebrows to blend in more, since they are too in your face.
So here is how The reworked Krilin looks thus far. I will be covering all the seems with his shirt, so add a 2nd arm once I get this one looking right.
I don’t think a bandana and a turtleneck would go to well together, a beanie would work much better with it. Anyways, good models!
Thanks Jakeychan.
Well another smallish update. I added the other arm from the original model, and reposed it, I also posed the other hand (although I think I should lower the little finger more) and worked it up a little bit more. I also change the head shape from the back abit and textured the head a bit more too.
Anyway hope it’s looking better. Alot of work to do on the hands to get them shaped correctly next, and get the arms looking right. Lots to do.
Hi there, just wanted a break from Krilin, so decided to do a bust of Superman from the Hush Series, will try to make this a quick model to work on, since it is just to have a break, and work on something new and quick.
Any ways hope you like so far.
Ok another quick update, working on the chest and cape area, but did more work on the head and hair.
I won’t be posting anymore today, I promise
Hey spimmy, oh youve posted many new updates. :) Good start on the superman! Can
t wait to see the liZard warrior. The sketch looks great!
ah, you did the chocolade girl
I like it alot. only the material was not perfect I think.
your works are solid
Moni: Thanks, I am looking forward to get onto the Lizard Warrior too, but want to finish the models I have started for the time being
Pitchepuck: Thanks, well chocolate girl was my first model in ZBrush and really learnt alot from it, but still lots to learn
Well I have continued to work on Superman, I didn’t get much time the last couple of days to work on him, but have worked his torso and the block of stone he is meant to be made from. So I will be merging the body into the Stone block so that it is seamless.
Hope you like how he’s shaping up.
woo, great sculpting going on here man
superman’s lookin dope, hope the rock to man transition looks cool (seems like it will ^__^)
nizza_waaarg: Thanks dude for the compliments , I really hope I will do something nice with the Superman sculpt.
Today I played aroung to get a lighting setup for the model, so that once I finish it I can render it out. The render was done in 3DStudio Max 8 (So a pretty old version of Mental Ray).
Will get back to sculpting again.
A little update, as I haven’t had much time. I retopologised the Hair so that I can work in the detail better and started to work in the hair details more.
I also gave the bust some shoulder stumps and worked more on getting ribs to show down the sides, so that Supermans chest don’t look like Breasts
Its a bird, it
s a plane, NO! Its spimmy
s Z-uperman.
Thanks Moni .
Well haven’t really had much time in the last week to work on him, until today alittle bit, I basically merged the block with the torso and began to merge them together, I also worked in his stomach and rib muscles and his arm stumps more. I am hoping retop the body and the block, and hopefully the head too later on.
Well after seeing ZSphere 2 being announced, out of shear excitement I decided to give Zspheres ago tonight ! I have only tried them once before, for Chocolate Girl, and this is only my 2nd go, and have enjoyed using them!! I will sculpt something out of the resulting mesh (the mesh has a tail which can’t be seen from this view unfortunately).
As for my previous WIP I have decided to drop them, I have learnt alot working on Funky Assassin, Krilin and Superman, such as retopology, merging meshes, etc, and have made many mistakes too in the process. So really want to start with a clean slate project, taking all I have learnt into account.
Hey, I agree, it’s all a learning process. Sometimes if something isn’t working out for you then it’s best to just start over. Rather than be too proud and try to battle to the end. Resulting in not much fun! Glad to hear you don’t have much problem in starting again. Looking forward to where your new guy is going
Thanks Captain for the Support!!!
Well I have started to model into the ZSphere Mesh I created and he is turning out like this at the moment, crits welcome (since I really want to do something awesome with him and actually finish this model ):
Well been working today sorting out the proportions abit, defining muscles (still not perfect I just want to flesh them out first and then clean up later), getting some details on the hands, feet and tail joint, and generally working on ideas in my head of pose, clothing, weapons etc, so here is how is shaping up.
