Hi all, I’m back with this sculpt
Any tips ?
Just finished this head… any tips ?
Hi! Overall it makes a nice impression. There are some advices which might be helpful
- His frontal cranium appear too massive. Maybe this is due to extreme perspective distortions, but it looks like the forehead has the same width as the back of the skull. This is not right. Viewing from top the cranium has an egg shape with back part much wider. Also, don’t make a forehead as a solid flattened form. It has a lot of distinct features: superciliary arches, frontal eminences, temporal line etc. This might not look very obvious, but adding this subtle details helps and adds to believability.
- Going down, I think that eyes (the form of the eyelids) might be shaped better. Also, I highly suggest to add at least some indication of eyebrow’s hair (by simply polypainting it or sculpting them). People tends to look very odd without them
- The ears appear a bit too far, but again this might be due to exaggerated perspective
- You also might polish the region below his mouth since it looks a bit undefined
I hope that was useful
