Sparky's Thread :) (Nudity)

very nice dude  . how u planning on starting him? zsphere or basemesh.? and whats ya plan for your whole modelling process?

Its got good character and balance to him. take all that you learned from your previous sculpt which i have to say u did a good job on and add it to this one and improve.

gd luck buddy

do it:+1:

Hi Guys thank you for liking the idea of the concept

gdkvisions I will create a basemesh in maya

My pipeline is usually
Modelling maya - zbrush
Texturing I use Zbrush spotlight then compose in Photoshop
For baking the normal maps I experiment I see how it turns out in Zbrush then I do a test using Xnormals and transfer maps in Maya

Dman3d Cheers dude  hehe

Fat Batman should be fun. Fat people are just fun to draw. Probably even more fun to sculpt, haven’t tried yet. Make his belly popping out of his costume and maybe a condiment utility belt. Can’t wait to see it. A whole series of fatties would be funny to see. Use Manuel Uribe as reference, if you’re not easily grossed out. He’s currently the world’s fattest man.

haha nice

Cheers for the comments guys

Shrimpcat yes I think it will be a very fun one to do  and good idea and the belly and belt  . Haha Manuel Uribe is a bit too extreme haha

there is this awesome competition happening at gameartisans at the min where this sculpt would be ideal, but I don’t like the idea of abandoning sculpts to do another so I wont take part in it, there are some awesome entries so far

Link Below CHECK IT OUT

I have Blob on my desk giving me reference for my next sculpt fat batman hahaha

experimenting with render setting

Haha he’s looking cool Sparky! Excited to see how he turns out man. This girl is looking nice too, there are a few things off from her face though. Her lips look odd, especially with the pink outline. I know it’s like that in the reference, but her lips and eyes I don’t think translated too well, the rest looks great though

Haha cheers Polaroid yes he will be a good one to do, done all probably and everything as i’m doing a realistic look as that is my style, he should hopefully turn out pretty good

Did you see the concept by the way on the previous page, not just the photo of Blob hahahahahaha

Cheers for the crit on the eyes and lips, I’ll have a moochy to see what I can do

Yeah! He’s more like obese Batman rather than fat batman lol that’s going to be a really fun one to do. I love the stubby legs

If you’re going for a realistic approach, check out http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=154376 that thread. The way he does his gut and the fat wrinkes on the cloth are fantastic.

Hahaha Yeah Polariod you could be right about the obese haha

Haha yeah his feet are disappearing under all the fat

cheers for the link

The neck looks a bit wide in the sideview, the space between his eyes seems to be a tad too much. But I dont think it’s that that causes the overall ā€œoddā€ look. I just realised I have to go deep into an anatomy book about the facial features myself

VictorCS cheers for the crit  after taking the screen shots I realised that Perspective was not ticked, so that might be way it looked a little odd to you, so I’ve done it again with perspective turned on, let me know what you think ?

nose…yeah…needs fixin… yeaaah

Proportions seem rather wide, especially the nose.
typically the face is 5 eyes wide, with one eye width between the eyes
the nose will vary a bit as well as other feature depending on ethnicity.
this may help http://www.artyfactory.com/portraits/drawing_techniques/proportions_of_a_head_1.htm
Not to say this is bad, good work! Keep going!

Bear in mind these are general guides, faces everywhere slide around so to speak. Plus are you doing minds eye or photo ref modeling? I get into super
trouble myself w/o ref.

also phi shows up everywhere so you could consider it as well depending
on what you are wanting to achieve, stupid nature all doing stuff and whatnot

Can we take the texture off? You have alot of structural issues to address first. Let’s see it grey shaded so it can be better critiqued. One of the best things I learnt from my day job is paying close attention to the planes of the head. Best place to start.

Try and forget all the texturing for now, which I know is tough.

cheers,

dapharmer yes the nostril’s are a tad wide hehe

Dman3d thank you for the crit  , Yes the nostrils are a little on the wide side at the moment, Yes I am using photo reference at the min, and the chap has wide nostrils but I’ve made them a little too wide hehe
The eyes, I will re-measure them, thank you

lildragon Thank you for your crit also  the image below is the grey mat as requested  , I’ve also turned off the fine detail for you.

I know the ears look bad at the min and the corner of the eyes stick out a little
