Nice porcellina… sorry porcellain…

…mh…could somebody tell me why I lose the material information everytime I restart zbrush? I have to re-paint different materials everytime…

why???

You have to remember the changed material. I always write it down what material was pasted on the other.

yes Bas, I know .

But the problem is that I have to re-paint all the materials on my model every time I restart ZBrush…when I work I 'm used to copy-paste some materials, but for example today I open my model in ZB and this model has lost the meterial I have painted yesterday…why?

this is the “puppet” that put into place the Spare Parts
hope you like it

ceramic…mh:confused:

thx again:laughing: :+1:

Drummer,

I am not certain what method you are using to assign your materials. My suggestion would be once you assign the material to the object that you save the material. Give it a name like ZombieMat1 or something like that. Then whenever you startup ZBrush and load the Zombie tool you can choose a fast shader in the material pallet and load the ZombieMat1 material in over it. Hope this helps.

Looking good Drummer:+1: I like the abdomen, or rather the lack of abdomen. The stitches on the neck look good too.

To save the material info (not the materials but which material slots are used) you need to save the tool with the texture included. Next time you load the tool the texture is also loaded and the material info restored.

Exporting a texture as .bmp or .tiff will remove the material info. Exporting as .psd will place the material info in the alpha channel. But unfortunately the material info from a .psd’s alpha channel is not imported into Zbrush.

You can use the alpha channel in photoshop to create alpha textures which you can again use in Maya, Lightwave, Cinema 4D etc to apply shaders to specific areas of your texture.

Aouch!

yes Mentat7,
I do the same, but when I start ZB and load the model, it has no different materials, and if I load a material, the model has only this material!!
the other materials I had previously painted on, are lost !
sometimes I have a strange material on the last parts I have painted, but not always…

thx anyways for your help Mentat7.
if you have other solutions, please let me know
thx

TVeyes : thx for the “alpha” information !! for the other things I do save the texture with the model, but maybe I’m doing something wrong…but what?
thx

Strange. Are you following the steps described in the Texturing: How can I SAVE a texture with EMBEDDED MATERIALS? FAQ thread?
