nice texturingsmall_orange_diamond
Would love to see some wireframes
fantastic trailer and a great character, really well executedâŠwireframes?..aww go on then
@markkens: the thing that you have to remember with Space Marines is that you are making armour that looks like a superhuman, not a superhuman in armour.
There are anatomical quirks all over them as they were originally designed to be a 30mm figure, true scale doesnât really look all that good at that size so some things are tweaked and altered.
Dont even think about terminator armour
Seth. Guess I was thinking Astartes, who are Hulk-size humansâŠ
Amazing texture work. I love the spec, nice mix of dusty metal and scratched shinny parts. Really sells the material well.
Yea, space marines are a bit freakish in regard to normal human proportion. Always have been. The lore goes that they are genetically bread or created (donât remember which) and then to top it off they play with their genes which changes their physique. Itâs also not entirely known just how much of the suit they really occupy, or what kind of physic alterations they undergo to fit in the suits.
BS aside, really the proportional anomalies come from the miniatures and some of the concept art.
When you apply the miniatures proportions:

To real world humans, you lose the ability to walk, the heroic wide stance, broad chest and ape like arms:

I think this model and to a great degree the texture, really help marry the two worlds together.
Finally got a chance to render out a wireframe of the Sergeant for you guys

Pilotcap - your Kickboxing master is shaping up nicely
Mind Symbion - Thank you very much
markkens - Iâm glad the cinematic helped you visualise the dreadnought, i will post some renders up of him soon. As for the armours, a extremely muscular male should be able to fit inside the armour suit, thats the overall feel. The Games Workshop miniatures Sergeants, Captains and Comanders have much more of a stylised feel with larger heads disproportionate to their bodies. I wanted to make sure his head did not feel too large or too small, i hope i achieved that
= BlackNull = - Thank you!! I think your Wolverine is really amazing Looking forward to your next work
Alexander Tolstopyatov - Cheers! your Doomsday w.i.p is coming along nicely
