Sony Santa Monica Lunchcrunch Characters

Hi BUSNISMANPATRIOT:
I am not from Santa Monica Studio. I don’t know what their brush setting was. But if you turn up Mouse Avg and Roll Dist in the Stroke menu, you can greatly alleviate those ugly spacings.
While waiting for their correct answer, I hope this helps.

A lot of what is causing that spacing problem is the speed of your stroke. The faster you make the stroke the larger the spacing is and thus it creates that spacing issue you are having. Try slowing down your stroke and see if that helps.

I originally misread your post and answered regarding the “Clay Buildup” brush when you were in fact asking about “Clay Tubes”. I’m sorry. Here’s the correct info:

You can adjust the behavior of the Clay Tube brush simply by turning on Stroke>Lazy Mouse and reducing the step size to something like 0.1 – hope that helps!

Hey guys,

In response to the claytubes brush, it depends on the artist. Personally I use the clay brush and claybuild up brush while sculpting.

If you look at arshlevon’s Clayface though you can see this texture and I think it’s great. I would not be afraid of this texture, I would just find what version of the clay brush works best for you.

Thanks for checking out our work!

These Batman sketches are ****ing crazy man!
PLEASE KEEP FEEDING US!!!

THIS STUFF IS F***ING AWESOME. Can anyone join in or is it just you guys? would love to have a go:D

I would also love to try this…

EiGHT - thanks dude, Everyone is having fun with this one. hope we can keep you entertained!

LeoAMD - hey man, no, we’re just keeping this a company thing. We started this as a team and skill building exercise and we’re going to keep it that way. Its something that we’re all doing and talking about next to one another at lunch everyday. Thank you for your interest though, we’re glad you’re liking these!

All great, Clayface and Two-Face are two of my favorites. Is Clayface really a one hour sculpt? That’s insane…

What you guys are doing is really inspiring. Keep this thread going forever. I wish I could accomplish in a day what you guys do in about an hour.

If you’re taking recommendations, I’d love to see sculpts of Mr Freeze & the Penguin. You could probably do some pretty interesting stylized versions of both of them.

wow…these are great! Thanks for the movies of you working, always fun to see how you get the model. Very coooool! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

i dont really care about the texture the claytubes leaves, but i find turning lazy mouse off, and mouse average all the way up to create a smooth stroke when i need to.
for only an hour i try and get as much of the character in there as i can for as long as i can before moving on to polished details, so i like to keep my stuff as loose as possible while working, this helps not to get attached to anything, freely destroying parts of the design without caring too much about what i am doing.

thanks tobbeo, yeah its just an hour, i went back and uploaded the timelapse under the clayface post if you want to check it out, or go here.

i am going to go back and edit my posts and embed them under my pics.

I have a question: You guys sculpt during your lunch breaks, do any of you actually eat lunch???

Thank you guys for your answering…
shulinchung - thanks dude modifying the Mouse Aug and Roll dist it give me the exact result as in videos…
Thanks again man !:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

You could easily eat a sandwhich and do zb at the same time. A prime rib smothered in gravy would be a challenge though i’m sure.
Great thread guys!

ah no worrys man, but I may have to start up my own one for the general public. great stuff in here, keep it coming guys :+1:

I love love love painting Mr. Freeze. He’s one of my favorites from the Batman Rogues Gallery… Especially after the Heart of Ice eps from the Batman series long ago.

Here’s a link to a Mr. Freeze concept I did a while ago too:Mercilessdesign Blogmr-freeze.jpg
