nice work
My only comment is that in the side by side comparisons (of her side view) she has a flatter forehead in real life.
But talkabout nit picking lol
great job

Terrific man!
Wow. This is good stuff. I love the way you broke down and shared the references you used.
Out of curiosity, why did you need to use Maya, Max and XSI? Were there specific features of each that you needed to complete this piece?
beautiful work. the likeness is uncanny!!
Wow…
Awesome stuff…
Top Row…
I’m not sure who she is, but she’s beautiful
I saw someone also did this woman before, I think maxedwin his name, not sure… With the same pose I think…
But too bad the hair only polys…
I mean, hey come on, u r using maya, why don’t u use at least paint effects to do the hair…
But it’s a great stuff anyway I admit it…
Really cool…
awesome… just awesome!!! definitely 5 stars
maybe you might want to play more with the face,
but its depend on what kind of style you want to achieve also
right now it still look illustrative/cartoony.
but its a good start,
I recommend you also to try some other pose,
that pose has been done before.
totally gorgeous, you caught the likeness at the perfection even in the differents facial expressions, Awesome Top Row stuff for sure !
its really great !
Cool work man, but isn’t this piece over a year old by now? Why are you posting it again?
EDIT: My mistake…
This piece was done by Max Edwin Wahyudi (http://student.vfs.com/~3d68max/) Who even did a full tutorial covering the making of.
This happened earlier this week… What happened to giving proper credit? And what happened to creativity? I can cope with seeing 10 new hulks every month, but this is insane!

ah jelmer how are you?
btw i think we are the only guys who dont get the joke lolz …
Wow,really nice model…this is a top row model for certain!
really great likeness and prettiness
I think it was a wrong choice, since Max Edwin created an awesome piece with his representation, while yours look a rip off of his work. I see similarities, but I cannot forget the original piece…It’s like someone tries to sing Queen titles…Freddie Mercury cannot be replaced
Thanks everyone, glad to know you like it.
@ jbuck
Thanks fellow,
I used Maya to create the uvwmap since it was faster and used XSI to create all the maps, occlussion, normalmap.
Now to clear something:
Max goal’s was to reproduce the actress as close as possible, mine was the same, of course they look similar
but … I really don’t know anymore if I should keep this to myself anymore but I’m a human too and I have limits as well, so please excuse me if it bothers you
seams like everywhere I’m posting one of the guys mention about max’s work, and I feel very bad with every time I hear this.
I didn’t used that guy’s work, I avoid it as all my limits. I admit I used his references he posted at beginning since someone pointed me to his work, just like here, wish he/she didn’t since I had a hard time, with this since some of the pictures it didn’t fit at line
coz of this I restarted the whole progress, bought the Full House dvd’s and made the work after that, had to wait 4 months for this
I almost decided not post the yellow style, the interview wedding that people voted to create, but I worked way to much to keep it only on my hard disk, what you will do?
there are people that actually put love in there what they are doing, how do they feel if someone said he rip the others work when they know in there bottom of the heart they didn’t?
why some of the people are so jerks?
I will really appreciate if you will remove that picture from here and keep only the link Jelmer, since it has nothing to do with my work. No credits for it
Well you have to appreciate that you’ve modelled an actress who has been famously (within the CG community) created, praised, posted & printed by a very talented character artist.
Yes, she’s a real person BUT by choosing to recreate the exact same shot that Max Wahyudi chose you’ve opened yourself up to a comparison of his work…
Sorry pal. but you made it for yourself. What I told, is that it LOOKS LIKE A RIP OFF. Why, because you made just the same shot. Anyone creating a Mona Lisa must consider that his work will be compared to the original. Especially if it is just the same pose, and color, etc. Everybody singing Queen must consider that his performance will be compared to Freddie Mercury. So I don’t understand your upset. You are right, that you made it for the public, and I wouldn’t even mention Max’ name, if you didn’t post the image so similar to his. And yes, in that case, it’s LOOKS like a rip-off.
If you wanted to show YOUR skills, you would had to choose totally different poses, clothings, etc. You are talented guy, so you don’t need to imitate other guys work.
“there are people that actually put love in there what they are doing, how do they feel if someone said he rip the others work when they know in there bottom of the heart they didn’t?”
Everybody here I think doing this with love. But since the similarity is very obvious, and to be honest Max’ version is better, it is natural reaction, to mention that. Delete that image from the post of yours, and less people will complain.
and the pose and smile is original from maxedwin , you cant find the photo like that, even tho the person is real.
but anyway welcome to modern art community, my friend
hope you like it peace
Yeah, proper credit should always be given if you were inspired from it and wanted to duplicate the piece. But people do it all the time with replicating someone’s art. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen someone try to duplicate a sculpture they’ve seen, or a painting they loved. I’ve seen countless Frazetta dupes of his Death Dealer. Is it wrong? No. Of course not. But credit should be given when it’s done.
I think this looks better than most can do. There’s still issues with it since we have to compare with the original, but it’s a great effort. Mainly what I see wrong is in the lips. Something seems off about the bottom lip.
The smile was done by using this references.

The pose was done by using a combination btw these two pictures:

I’m not upset but I don’t like to be judged like this. My goal was to recreate the original character not a copy.
But I give fullcredits to MaxEdWin for his work since he was the original actor who created in 3d first.
People started to compare my work with Max work starting from the first head so I had to recreate another style.
but this doesn’t interest me anymore, I want to concentrate on another project
if you feel better you may close this topic, remove the pictures or continue on topic
p.s sorry for the linked images this will not happen again
