you are a Zartist, I love when people make Zart, but I would like to see you respect the media a bit more with techniques, get your meshes a bit higher density and really polish the work. composition and form is interesting enough but it looks more like your playing with zcreation techniques rather than executing a good idea. I would like to see you take some of those quick concept scenes and really polish them out, spend some time and make things make sense, especially in your abstract shapes. You can create the abstract forms but keep the details they are comprised of logical and fitting.

Oh my GOD!

Great Job

@Eliad thanks :wink:

@Polyguns Yes you are right, may be I should spend more time on my model … But all the facets you see are made on purpose . for example for the snake, the head gets 8,5 millions of polys and the body 6,3 millions , so I can keep the facets when I want them and put some 3d texture or just some smooth as you can see on the following pictures .

I totally agree with “polyguns”!
Take your weird / differntly “concepts”, polish them up, think about a design or theme…and you`ll get a real own style of art!

I like them, they are cute and funny  But some of them feels very ambitious, I would refine some of the ideas-forms there. Too much crowd in the forms will overshadow original intent sometimes, unless the artist wants them as %100 conscious artistic choice and puts them in precise positions in artworks space. Have you seen Quay brothers movies at all? They have very sharp, vivid yet refined stories and forms in their shorts.

Hi there  I would really like to understand your art but I just cant ! For me it is like take a good model and then just ruin it . No anatomy , no composition , no mood  I am confused . Why you couldnt make something cool ? I mean I see you can sculpt well but why you make art like this ? I didnt mean to hurt you . You are very good at sculptning but just tell em why this ?

hi,

thanks for your comments .

@ahtiandr don’t worry your comment is ok .the problem is that I don’t understand what you talk about  Is it the modelage or the rendering ?

Why do I make art like this? what do you mean by "like this " ?

And, you know, I only use zbrush for illustration, not for game character , even if I think that some of these works are exceptionnals .
I show here some pictures I made with 3d technics .

But I agree with some comments, I should spend more time on some works .

@kursadk thanks for the Quay brothers movies, I will check it as soon as I can .

@Sculptor Of Flesh . Well, in fact I began a theme with my last posts, the animals of chinese astrology .Just an idea I got, I already did the snake, rooster and the wild boar .

here is another snake I did, and I celebrate my first year of 3d illustrations, I put my first ztool in it .

Yajad,

Your art is very avant garde and wonderful. You have a very Stream-of-Consciencness feel to all the pieces here which appeals to me personally. I perticularly like that you don’t make some of your pieces high poly “finished” models and the attention is to the flow and overall feel of the piece rather than the minutia and yet that is there as well. Very wonderful and a nice departure from the usual Zbrushing.

Tore’alos,
~Wyrm

I think what ahtiandr is saying is that your models have no sense of topology, they are just abstract forms with something “human” thrown in there. Some of these look like exploded meshes, especially the gorilla on page 1 near the bottom. There are single verts that go across the model in random directions forming “spikes” everywhere.

When ahtiandr says “ruin it” he means in the sense that it is not a useable mesh. You would never be able to animate it, put it in any game engine, or texture it without the use of polypaint. mapping this out would be a nightmare!

I cannot say your art is not good, or “cool” since that is all interpretation by the viewer. However I can say that outside of zbrush, these models would be near impossible to create or work with. Some of the effects you use look like the result of beginner mistakes, or exploded meshes, but I know these are intentional and are not mistakes.

I personally think some of your best works are the train and the minigun because they are defined forms, instead of random and chaotic spikes and crumpled meshes.

I am not trying to put you down in any way, in fact I agree that you have an incredibly unique and avant gaurd style. I can also say that your works are obviously enjoyed by others so please dont take this the wrong way. Just because I enjoy realistic and detailed work does not mean your work is bad. I would love to see more refined work from you in the future. Keep it up because no matter what anyone says, there will always be people who love your art and others who hate it.

thanks for your interpretation Aberrant :+1:

I completely agree with your words . My meshes are unuseable outside Zbrush, I know it . All the works posted here have one purpose , be an illustration, with no engine renderer but only matcaps and PSP .

I try to work these meshes as i feel it, I did some works in 3d which are clean . These works are made with Sketchup, you can go on this [link](http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=10743&start=75) to see a big scene I made with it . ;)

I made cleans meshes (with retopology)in Zbrush but I used them for an [animation](http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=54719244) .

I understand your point of view and thanks again for your interpretation .

people who like my works, people who don't ...yes I got used with it even if I prefer when they like :D

@reverendwirm thanks for your comment and to appreciate my work .:).

I like the modern art feel to the work.
Not every piece done in Z has to be optimized…sometimes its not the point.
good to see design not aspiring to be hulking bad assesery every now and then.

thanks Walt-Art

but for my last work , I tried to do something more in a more “traditionnal” way .

May be members could tell me what they think about it ?
