Great work on all the models!
What’s your secret? I always suck at capturing likeness :slight_smile:

@ undoz: there is no secret, i just start with a basemesh in 3dsMax and use a reference image with a cameramap modifier on the basemesh. The rest is a long time consuming procedure of moving points and faces;) I always wonder how the pro´s manage to create likeness in just 3 or 6 hours of speedmodeling. I need weeks and tons of reference images! :confused:

Regards,

Carsten

I’m glad to hear that hard work is the key :slight_smile:

That’s a great solution with the cameramap. I remember the first head I’ve created in max… around 99-00. Then, I was using a plane uvw projection on top of the face I was working on, and it was pretty easy to fit the model based on the map that stayed fixed on top. Don’t know why I’ve abandoned that technique… laziness I guess :slight_smile: Thanks for the tip!

can you show us your basemesh? it is detailed?

Hi,

so here is the final picture. I used 3dsMax, Brazil 2.0 and Photoshop. I hope you like it;)

WOW!!!1Amazing work!!!:smiley: :smiley:

Amazing work. cool models :+1:

As a total noob about this stuff (just got zbrush 3 days ago) I feel simply K.O. :cry:

Stunning works.

great scene and very realistic model !

@Sky86 here is the Basemesh, as you can see nothing special about it;)
@oldmanpushcar, @Nattawat_OBBI and @Remib , thanks guys!
@Count Zero please don´t feel KO, feel inspired instead:)

The only crit I have apart from the amazing job you’ve done so far is that I feel the hand on Roger Moore that’s holding the walther ppk is a bit small and thin.

Otherwise looks really good!

So here is a little update on Clint Eastwood.
Just curious what you think about him.:wink:
I´m thinking about a 3dPrint of this one.
Have fun,

Carsten

Really awesome. Thought about doing Blondie myself. Only crit I have is that he looks a bit older than he was in TGTBATU. Other than that I think you nailed him.

One of my favourite actors. This is a superb likeness. Top stuff. Looks how he did in ‘Pale Rider’ I think. :+1:

Very nice, you got the touch of all of them. Roger moore render is very nice. When will you make old german actors from the german expressionism inestead of the very well known hollywood ones? :slight_smile:

Happy new year.

It’s very good, great choice of subject and the pose is all there. I have one constructive criticisms though, his hands are too soft and also his trousers crease at the crotch like a woman’s trousers (for obvious reasons men and women’s trousers crease differently there). If you cover the head you could think it’s a woman. He’s an alpha male, he needs roughen up.

Here´s a little update!
The colored renders are done with a quick polypaint. It´s just a test for the textured mesh.

@Gaboon and MINTY, Thanks a lot !:slight_smile:
@Gentleman, what german actors would you suggest? The only one i found
interesting is Klaus Kinski.

Ach ja, und einen guten Rutsch!

@maxinkuk, thanks a lot for the feedback! I changed a few thinks, hope it´s better now.

carsten, that is truly amazing…they are so lifelike… I would definitely be able to tell the characters from their model…just a question, what kind of references did you use? you mentioned you got them from google images…but did you use like traditional references like front view, side view, perspective view and then use imageplane to match and sort of trace out? I tried to find some film stars references and i wasnt able to find references that were really good like the facial views on 3d.sk. How did you texture them? using zproject from the front/side views? Sorry for the obvious noob questions but I would appreciate the advice coz I just started out on zbrush and would like to start a project on a film star impersonation :smiley:
