EZRA52<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register(“postmenu_759406”, true); </SCRIPT> : Thanks, I spend a lot of my free time trying to learn 3d and I think I have a lot more to learn. It seems never ending but its fun so i dont really mind. I hope to do some training at school soon so I can one day get a job doing what I love.

it’s remember me one hard core music where he cry
“sexy funky monkey” nice
This is a follow up to the ‘Cartoon Monkey’ on page 2. He has changed a lot since the start. He looks less like Mike from ‘monsters inc’ now.
This was for a client in idia to be used in a A3 promo poster for a metal company. The original is in color but I prefer the muted version a lot more.
Thanks for viewimg.
awsome im really digging the eyes good work man
darkshinji05: Thanks man, Just used the BPR transparancy with chrome material.
kilik128: Cheers man
EZRA52: Thanks. I dont think I would of even started if it wasnt for zbrush. It really helped bridge the gap from Artist to 3d Artist.
This is my sewer troll I made to get my work flow down for game ready characters and practice rendering in mental ray. Theres still so much to play with in 3d max I struggle to find enough hours in the day.
This is the highres Zbrush 4 render using BPR
Will post mental ray render soon.
Mental Ray
I call it ‘Frank’.
I’m not sure what it is. i just wanted to model something really skinny and long.

Haha, frank is great!
This is rendered and modelled in Zbrush4. I was trying to get the look of a glow map that you would normally do in 3ds max. Just playing with the render BPR in Zbrush. Im happy with the way it came out.
Reminds me of some of the creatures found in the Lovecraft Mythos based illustrated book “Creatures of the Dreamlands” from a long time back.
I was thinking men in black when I was finishing the composite. Started to remind me of the opening night sceen in the desert. not sure why. Just wanted to use a dark background to make the glow stand out more.
I never seen Creatures of the Dreamlands. must of been before my time.
This is a fine model and render soulty666!
I already noticed the model in the other matcap thread.
Interesting glow effect. How? combination of two passes?
And not a Lovecraft scene, your alien is funny. More close to MIB as you mentioned.

Great book. Really inspirational artwork and creature designs inside.
Frank is cool! I like transparent Frank the most, it gives kinda microscopic feeling for it.
that’s a very cool alien critter
Thanks guys.
The glow effect was blue polypaint, painted on a black model with the doc background as black and flat color material. The result is a selection mask. The blue was also in the diffuse map. Comped in PS.
Cartoon Animal Character.
Modeled and rendered in Zbrush. 3 passes. Rendered A3 at 300 dpi.
