This is easily some of the best, most original work seen in this forum. Your character work is exceptional. There are issues with details such as cloth and other textures but the character work soars. Bravissimo.

Thank you!!! Nitro, the skin isn’t a shadfer: I use to texture with photo mapped skin texture, as you find on the net for 3d artists, and add often a subsurface scattering in deep red or deep grey-blue… sometimes, when really active, I add a specular map (mostly for face close up)… as you see, nothing fancy… In modo, adjust the gamma of the texture map, (and flip it), coming from Z brush…
Mahlikus, Dickie, Andreseloy, hello my friends!.. remains me a lot of good talk about pictures, when learning Z, at the beginning!..

I like that Marcel, using the skin sample. It’s “quick and dirty” but the effect is great, and often there is no time to create custom textures for illustrations.

Would it be possible to explain how you achieved the look of the chainmail shirt? Was it modeled in zbrush or another application using cloth simulation, etc…? I’m looking to do something similar but just don’t know the best way to do it.
