- great design and process
- Light this F#$ker good, with some really nice realistic lighting scenarios. Use all your SSS and Radiosity stuff you need to make it look good. Ask for help in this dept

Coming along nicely. BTW…what proggy did you use for the background - Vue, WorldCreator, etc, or is that a Photo-chopped still?
Now your getting somewhere
i prefer where your going with the environment. It could probably be more of a tropical one. Just my thought. Cause his a saturated character.
Yes, much better, but i think you can get better results with a more elaborated terrain (i like the background you used), and working later in photohop to integrate the monster into the environment.
Keep posting, waiting your progress
Just a minute of postpro in photoshop, obviusly with all my respects.

illusiondigital>> Helped a lot.
Nice project, but I think there are some issues that i would adress if I was working on the project.
The scale structure on the end of the tail seems a bit too big. I would think that the scales would become smaller and smaller as it got nearer to the end. I also think it looks a bit too gaudy/multi-coloured on the transparent skin between the spikes that goes down the spine.
I would probarbly make a metamorphosic gradient from one end to the other meaning that the pattern would change gradually from spike to spike but still be the same. Ehm… hope you understand.
But other than that. REALLY cool creature you have developed there.
I like the head detail a lot, but maybe the front legs seem a bit too spindly somehow. The look like they need to be beefed up to make the creature look more dynamic. Very good lighting match.Overall though looking good
Hi All,
Thank you all for your comments and critics, and I have to apologise for the
late reply, I’ve been busy with other projects and didn’t have time to work on this project until recently.
I have revised the model completely once I got Zbrush3 and found some time to work on it. I wasn’t realy satisfied with it myself so I decided to resculpt it. Maybe this version is not better than the previous one but it is closer to the concept. I still have to texture it. I did a simple walk cycle animation and for those interested you can watch it here:
Movie Sample: Quicktime 4.2 MB
Same animation but showing muscles can be viewed here:
Movie Sample2:Muscle Setup_Quicktime 3.3 MB
Thank you in advance for watching and any C&C is appreciated.
Respect,
Stunning, all that detail. Exciting looking creature…
Just watched both animations…wow…very ultra kewlies…I was wondering where you were on this…apparently good things come to those who wait…
thnx for sharing and I look forward to hopefully more of your animations…
Damn. Your going all out with this. Looking cool. The details are awesome. Good luck with the skin simulation. YIKES!
your sketch Drowings are Amazing… Amazing…
Plakkie: Thanks a lot.
Ron Harris: I’m glad you liked the animations. I will most definitely post more once I have something to show.
brettSinclair: Thanks man. I know I should have started on something else but I like to finish what I start no matter how much time and pain it takes.
khalid72:Thanks you sir. I’m glad you liked the sketches.
Respect,
Hello All,
I worked a bit more on the texture and the shader. Also working on a new scene.
I always envisioned this creature to be a jungle being that is able to climb the trees but also walk on the ground. Very adabtable creature. I am using the jungle scene that I had done previosly for another project. Guess I am laisy to start from scratch. Did some tweaks on it though.
I rerendered the walk cycle with the new shader and texture which can be viewed here. Simple Walk Cycle Movie. Quicktime 5.17MB
Still more work to be done for this project. Plan is to make the creature walk on the log and dissapear into the jungle and I’ll post more once I have something done.

Really love the last image. The animation looks really good overall, but the biceps don’t seem to be working that nicely. They don’t seem to bulge during a contraction. The wrinkles at a joint seem to be too large too. Is the jaw going to move? It appears lifeless as it is. Or his cheeks? He’s pretty close to the ground so I would think his cheeks might quiver a bit whenever he strikes the ground.
womball you are right about the jaw not moving or the eye for that matter not rotating… but they will once I get to that stage.
Also about the biceps or some other muscles not deforming correctly you are right becouse I havent completed the setup yet. Some muscles are there but are not connected to the skin . Still working on them. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Respect,
Fatmiri
Fatmiri, that last image has magic. I imagined him being a big fellow, but thinking of him as a small tree creature gives it a whole new dimention of fineness and delicacy.
Just saw the movies, those bone and muscle systems are wonderful, must be quite a puzzle to get it right. My hat off for not only modeling a finished creature, but also for thinking about it’s anatomy and making it come alive!
Wow dude. Big improvement since the last one. Now he looks like he belongs to the right environment
