Silo2 vs. Mudbox. Vs. Spore vs. Zbrush 2.5 vs. Hex2 Vs. Modo Vs. Bioware's MMORPG

holy cow! you get a free puppy with it?! now that’ll move some product!

Dang… Now my Dog’s want one to… Geeeezzzz
Lemo

So what if theres zbrush killas out there…to me its about the interface and workflow of the application that appeals most to me as a 3d artist…even if there’s an application who has more advanced features than zbrush 2.5 its only a matter of time before zbrush 2.5 has the same or even better tools…everything will evolve rapidly anyway…so its about finding the one that appeals most to ya…i kinda look at it like gameplay…a game might be technically and visuallly stunning but without gameplay its nothing…its about the interface and workflow i think…and i like zbrush

Bokaja

Blaine, that is seriously the cutest damn pic I’ve ever seen. Cut it out.

Great photo.
Didn’t know exgirl had children.

hey your exgirl may have been cute but i think the real question is… can she sharpen pencils?!

She sharpened mine:D

We’re talking about the future of zbrush here and you guys are joking around! I’m offended. We’re under threat from this whole vapor ware pencil upgrade and all of the secret agent pencil neck trolls!

To arms! To arms!

This sounds like street fighter 2. I wonder what character zbrush would be? Yoga fire!

who’s joking around?

seriously though, bicc, if you were getting your pencil sharpened, you must be on the beta team. that makes 3 of you. i’ve tried at least 100 times and they just ignore me. what’s a guy got to do to test the beta!!!

oh and them trolls are close!

what’s a guy got to do to test the beta!!!
Same as anywhere else.
a. suck up.
b. not want to be, or have the time to be, a beta tester.
c. own part of the company.
d. see (a)
e. Be a name artist in another program.
f. Not participate in Community forum discussions.
g.Submit work that was done by a production team of 12
people and say you did it.
h. see (a)
i. Be a “team player”

Ok now the big one.

Show through submission of work done entirely in zbrush, that
you know what the hell you are doing and talking about.
It helps to have that work be of consistent quality and a little
talent don’t hurt none either
Also.
see( a)

Note to Beta testers: tongue firmly in cheek ( see! team player!!)

>>know what the hell you are doing

darn! everything else I could figure out how to cover (particularly “a” and “g” - would it help if they knew that i made the internet?) but this last part seems to just rule me out altogether. what do you think though… do i still have a shot at getting a puppy at least?

You forgot the most important one: BRIBES!
Lemo

well that really cuts me out then - who in blazes can afford bribes? that’s my beer and dog food money you’re talkin about!

Pete330,

It takes a willingness to put in thousands of man hours, at no pay, with the firm knowledge that you will still have to pay full price for the finished product. Oh – and of course the fame and glory that comes with it. You will also need to reserve whatever time you have left for answering forum questions of course.

Since “Number2Lead” seems to be catching on here I’m posting a little sneak preview of new tools still in the developmental phase. These will be first shown at Siggraph 2010 with a firm release date of between 2011 and 2019.

Forget displacement painting. Who needs it. Heres why - direct manipulation of scene elements with realtime feedback with our new Playdough tool -

Lemo - What they don’t know wont hurt em:lol:

You know its so advanced that its beyond polys and sub-ds! Unlimited resolution! Although cookie dough might beyond playdough, you can eat it, safely.

blaine… no way! they can keep their stupid beta! i’m stickin to my beer! sure would like the dog though… :frowning:

i love the new playdough tool but mmmm… cookie dough… hoping for siggi 2022 with chocolate chips! anyway, back to today (er tomorrow)… how long does it typically take to render (er dry) a playdough tool? i know it depends on how dense the mesh is but on average for say a simple pinch pot i mean…
