Sideshow Comiquettes

The epitome of Top Row! Stunning work. And it requires a different set of skills and experience to create a digital sculpt that is going to be produced as a physical object. You are leading the way!

For the record, the prototype for the Scarlet Witch was painted by Kat Sapene from waktoys.com. I happen to know she had a BLASTworking on it.

yeah ok, I think this really deserves top row - bumping it

you should re-post this with an attached thumbnail…

this stuff is fantastic and should be top row.

absolutely awesome work

Hey Guys,

Long time no post. Keeping your nose completely to the grindstone keeps you from being able to post as often as you'd like...but here I am. You would think that after spending nearly a decade in this prototyping niche of the industry that I'd know to keep an interwebs presence strong and constant.....but alas tis not so! We've got a slew more pieces that are on the way, and hopefully we'll be able to post some major ones in the next month or so. Since I last reported, the ranks have expanded to encompass some of the best guys around, and the work that we're creating together is phenomenal. I don't want to out them yet so they don't get pestered for things they can't show, but once it all goes public, they'll be open game....sorry ya'll! The attention that these guys will get will be *well* deserved. Until then, here's a piece that was released recently, the X-23 vs. Lady Deathstrike Diorama: [![thumbnail.jpg|110x60](upload://sOAAsrDaFZeKyO1wREMkQldfiGI.jpeg)](javascript:zb_insimg('178275','2000311_press02-001.jpg',1,0)) You can see more pics here: [Sideshow Collectibles X-23 vs. Lady Deathstrike Diorama](http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=2000311&utm_source=search0109) While only a handful of projects that we've done have been released (mass production isn't always a time-friendly endeavor), there will be a slew of them to hit this year, and our project list keeps on growing. I know that there is an interest in learning the in's and out's of this process beyond making pieces water tight....and I would really like to address that. I'm considering doing a portfolio book/online tutorials that showcases a number of these finished pieces, showing the unique synergy between artistic vision and technology that's growing in the pipeline at Sideshow. As opposed to a purely technical approach to showing how a project was done, a broad picture would be painted of a piece, from concept to completion....and only showcasing one aspect of the digital side of the production process per piece. Enough projects would be showcased so that, when strung together, one would be able to see how the technical aspects are executed from beginning to end. The point is to have an art book that can be appreciated by the pretty pictures *and* the technical knowledge that would be shared. Would there be interest in something like this? Best! Adam

Awesome man:+1:

Very nice! Great action poses here. I just wish we could see the details a little better. Could you post a bigger image, or some close-up detail shots?

awesome job, anyway an artbook with both technical and artistic point of view would be a must have for me, i’m trying to explain the 3d part at some collectors on universmarvel.com and even “just” sculpt collectors look interested in the process. go for it !!
