Sarge_lazy2.jpg

hey, Inspired by Quake 3/Doom and Gears I decided to remake my favourite crusty war hero ‘Sarge’

I did the work in combination of mud and Max to start with and then moved on to Zbrush for the detailing.
I plan on getting him into Gears or Ut3, or at least getting him into the Unreal engine and texturing him up:)

Everyone gets inspired by GoW

But I love the model! Great work!

some fantastic detailing. Looking forward to the texturing.

coooool !! i love this model !!

great work!

amazing work!!

Alex Oliver

Exelent work, great detail.

Wow! Stunning Work Spacemonkey! :sunglasses: :+1:

Very very nice detailing…i wish my machine had the power to crunch that amount of numbers, I Wonder!!!
how much presure is placed on the gfx cards gpu.
The machines cpu, and the ram in between the 2…
Does anybody have any info on this ???.
is my NV.7400 go, just drawing the viewport or what!!. At the mo i have a core 2 duo T2300@ 1.66GH’S and 1.50 GB’s of ram, will another 500 help my machine when it comes to Zbrush. That will take me up to 2GB, will i see a noticeable difference???.
This is the best machine iv ever had and its just a VAIO notebook. its blows any pc iv ever owned, away . good things do indeed come in small packages:sunglasses:
NOT MEANING TO HIJACK YOUR THREAD but i wonder what machine you use to get that amount of detail on your model?
Now comes the hard bit getting it all textured and propperly uv’d and painted. well thats were i struggle. i get the darn model finished then lose the will to live on the painting part… i think theres some things im missing in my learning of zbrush, that i need to get a grasp of.
anyway i look forward to seeing such a fine model all coloured in and rendered …WELL DONE… Respect…:+1: :+1: :+1:

very nice ! keep it up !

Great model, if possible it would be nice to see a wireframe…

Looks really great man. I really like the detail on his face too. He doesn’t seem as overly muscly as the characters he was inspired by btw  Are you planning on texturing it any time soon?

@jadesoul
I have 2GB ram and I still have problems going past 3 million polys, so I would suggest trying to get 4GB in there if you can.
Also I’m not completely sure but I think CPU power is even more important than GPU power in Zbrush

thanks for the encouragement everyone! Its a good motivator

jadedsoul - sadly the mesh is around 23 million…which I achieved through having lots of subtools!!! I was sloppy when I built it and it resulted in far too many hidden faces… which has meant that without a lot of rework I can add further details…:frowning:

But of course it is nice to be able to view 23million poly’s

I am running an Intel core duo 2.13Ghz
3gigs of ram and a Geforce 8800 Gt

I got the machine earlier this year and this is the first ‘real’ test for it  I have a fairly powerful notebook but I never use it for serious modelling… my old graphics card died earlier this year and I realised that I’d need extra fans to make sure my new stuff doesnt over heat too. My home pc is actually a little better than my work pc

pixolClay, you want to see a wire of the hi res? it would be so dense… I can show off the game wires as soon as I get to that point

Seb Castilho, yeah I plan texturing the low poly version

great model, texturing that model gonna be really interesting, good luck :+1:

Aaaargh! 23 Million polys…
I can’t do this… Mainly I’m not able… but above all… My old PC move only max 8 Million polys (with a lot of difficulty…)…

!!! Love It !!!

Great! :+1:

Real nice details :+1: But his biceps are bigger as his head and how he will digg in his nose. I should like to see that nice sculpted head more big.

Awsome work… I love it…

Do you have a wireframe version?

Great job :+1: :+1: :+1:

I love so much you work , do you have a web page?, how do you makes the geometry simetri like the armor , five stars :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

I like this one. Good job. :sunglasses: :+1:
