love the final render, in particular the softness of the shadows achieved in the composition.
Do you use any photoshop plugin for black and white bleeding or is it just good old compositing?

But he could walk into the ladies room by accident :o

bladeflush,

I’m curious about the falloff pass. How are you using this. I’ve used Normals, Depth, Alpha, etc… but never a falloff. Just wondering. Thanks in advanced.

Top Row!

Great work bladeflush, I’m sure you’ll be seeing top row in no time

One crit I do have however is that unlike the rest of the body the cloth seems very flat. The threads on the texture are quite thick but they don’t seem to have any bump on them, or at least its extremely subtle.

Also wondering about the skin shader you used in your Avatar piece, I assume its been used on this as well for the arms (is it a unique shader/modified shader like Jonas Thornqvists skinplus+ or just one of the standard ones)? And the bump on the arms (and avatar face) are they actually unique or are they tiled?

Blong: to answer your question, I just set a falloff render to screen blending mode in photoshop and masked off parts I didn’t want. It provided some extra lighting I needed to show off some of his forms.

Here are some more render passes that I used:

bladeflush,

Thanks for sharing. I though that’s what you might have used that for but was not sure.

Cheers,
Bruce Long

thanks looking awesome man, but i think you should give a little credit to Jonas Thornqvist for inspiration source. http://gnomonology.com/tutorial/263.
The morphology, the hands and arms , the pose , the general mood, look a lot like jonas’s picture. http://gnomonology.com/upload/tutorial_thumb/263/1.jpg

just my 2cents, beside that you did a really great job :+1: thanks for sharing th render passes too

I totally got inspiration from Jonas Thornqvist not to mention Sven Juhlin, the other Swed. For some reason the Swedish know how to render some beautiful images. I dedicated myself to learn some of their secrets, and I’ll tell you, it’s all in the lighting and the skin shader (MasterZaps skin shader+ to be exact). Also I’m a big fan of chiaroscuro art. Nice eye by the way Nick, you must be a 3D connoisseur like me. To be mentioned in the same breath as those guys is a compliment.

P.S. Any advice on how to break into the game business I’m self taught and I’ve only been doing this for a year and a half. THX!

so cool!!! !!!awesome work!!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Here is the lighting setup in case anyone wanted to see it. I used attenuation in the light settings to shape my shadows a little better. Also the lights are photometric and I rendered it with the mr photometric exposure settings.

Great job!
