Ryan Harrison: 2010 Sketchbook (Possible nudity but I'm not promising anything!!)

Nice sculpt here!
Only, the armor pieces should be placed from the hand and up so that the overlapping is reversed. -the reason for this is that a cut from above will get caught in anything sticking out, and the result may be all the energy of the blow is concentrated there and the plates or the arm wil go off…
-The same goes for the shoulder armor, a blow from above wil get caught and turned down to the shoulder or most likely the neck, killing the wearer…

Just to add some realism to an otherwise beautyful sculpt:)

very nice! :+1:

as others have mentioned. clean, detailed sculpt.

Interu2x, EricShawn, tudorfat, RenoAnimations, - FoOD -, Peter Folke, Nattawat_OBBI, GX@W: Thanks a lot guys!

And Peter, Yes in most instances Placing the armor that way would make a lot of sense, but after much deliberation and research, I decided to go the way I did. Believe it or not I'm holding pretty true to the Retiarius gladiators with this guy...might even see his net before its all over! I decided since the Retiarius uses the trident and leads with his armored side, the left arm would at most times be raised and thus the Manica would do a good job of deflecting frontal attacks in this configuration. And the shoulder armor, well, that's just the way they did it then and I'm just trying to be "accurate". Believe me though when I say, I really do appreciate the input! :) I attached some images below of the manica being constructed the same way I did mine here, and one of them I drew heavily from as reference. And here, more poly paint fun...still playing around with color...starting to texture...

nice character man…keep going

mutte696: Thanks! For the body the mat is Sketch Shaded 3, and I think the rest is mostly RS_Greyclay or a variant… Rendered with BPR shadows and AO.

guilhermeluccas: Thanks! Hope to wrap him up soon…

Heres a turnaround of the final pose for my Rhino Retiarius. Right now he has no UVs and is just polypainted. I’ll post some stills when I get a min to get them rendered off. I also have an idea for a final image and composition in mind, so that will be coming sometime soon… Thanks for looking!

Yeah, I can’t really say much more than that’s pretty awesome. The character and all the accessories all seem to come together very well. Nice attention to detail & anatomy.

Terrific sculpt!
