Hey Frenchy, thanks for the great tip. A wonderful little app.

Questions: How can we create oil brushes in Zbrush?

How can we paint like ArtRage in Zbrush?

I notice that most forum posters are sculpters and modelers, but very few are painters. Yet Zbrush is really a paint program. (hence the word "Brush "in the name).

I would like to learn how to use Zbrush as a replacement for Painter. Thus being able to paint in 2D and add 3D all in one program.

…you can
The only difference is the price of ArtRage

In Zbrush oil painting can be simulate by the SmudgerTool
When you use it press the “Ctrl” key for apply a color and release it for smudge
The eyedropper color is the key “C”
Of course you choose any alpha for the form of brush’s smudger
And Zadd off/ ON, Zsub Off/On etc…
Like a painter you can put somme little touches of color in a corner of your canvas, and press “C” over for easy choosing color
You can also use the Color Quick Color by Aurick inside for easy choice and mix of colors
It’s a real pleasure to Smudgering with Zbrush
Have fun painting
Pilou
Ps Zbrush is a programm made by an artist for artists!
Pss You can also use other tools, just explore the prog

See Mytholon (old posts)

And this incredible Zbrush painter Cneofotistos a Dali revivaler

And this matte painting By Spaceman

You’ve got me inspired! And thanks for the inspiring links, as well.

I have so many different programs. So I’m trying to simplify my workflow to;

Photoshop<>Cinema4D><Zbrush.

No longer using Electric Image, FormZ, Painter, Amorphium,…

Thanks, again. :+1:

P.S. I run a second copy of Zbrush on my old iBook laptop, for training and learning purposes. (old G3 processor). ArtRage barely works, but Zbrush is very zippy. Yet another testament to the genius’s at Pixologic!

Here I am trying to punch through these ZB tutorials and you hand me a completely different program to play around with! :stuck_out_tongue:

And it is fun, too. I painted the view out my back window, of the hills rising above the Rio Bonito.

Rio Bonito seems very nice!
Have fun painting!

Pilou

:Dcool program :+1:

I gave the link to a virtual salon of 99% non-artists and strong-armed them into submitting at least one painting each. These are people who up to now have insisted that they have no talent, that art critics are pretentious snobs, etc etc etc.

If monkeys and elephants can paint, sez I, then so can all of you!

And here are the results:
http://www.asterlil.com/h2g2/artrage/arhome.htm

Everyone is extremely surprised. They apparently had no idea that painting could be relaxing and fun! Once they saw each other’s submissions, they got over the fear of ridicule and are now painting instead of playing solitaire. Several of the salonistas are librarians, and they are going to install artrage on their machines and encourage the children to play with it.

Art painting is everywhere for enlight darky days

finally, after a lot of times, i start to rebuild my web, actually there is a 0.5 version on line, but you can see some of my photo and some animation, (most of old work, recently most of work that i did was for internal presentation and i haven’t right to show on line).
have a nice day.

p.s. in the near future publish also my paints (analog and digital, actually i need a time to scan, shot and publish)

Nice photos on your site! : cool:
(Why not put a button(possible hidden) “return” on each photo or under because use the button previous is some painful
Yes I am some lazzy
