Woah … I just want to say thats … SW :o EEEEETTTTTT!
Very nice structure and detail.
Superb.
awesome work, really like the fluorescent green.
thx all, now trying to put the little bug in a good environment. no color map yet, just material with strong cavity
It looks great.
Nude you say? Will she have clothes in the future? I don’t think I have seen a Mantis with clothes on.
Absolutely awesome use of zspheres.
thank you for sharing.
Paul
some color map, and maybe a little oversized. in that case, it´s a mantis from Texas.
going for another bug

I think the mantis in the hand is a bit chubby, but not excessively large.
Nice work, i like the propotions and the nice proper details - how long did it take you to make the zsphere, and how long did the sculpture take ?
I think the view, mantis size, and angle on the composition shot with the hand is nice - however if you want to make a believe composition :
- Focus - if you fit the focus between the realimage and 3dimage you make the photo look more real.
pay attention to the focus, in the real photo the focus is set to the plant behind and your hand is blurry, but the 3d mantis is in focus - so you get a focal contradiction which makes the image look unreal. - Shadows - This one is hard, but if you manage to learn the lighting setup for the real scene, and make a dummy object for the hand where shadows are cast at it will contribute to the believability of your composition shot - which could be quite cool
Cheers
Svartberg: don´t know exactly, maybe a couple hours for zspheres, and six for sculpting. you are absolutely right about DOF and lightning, i´ll try to be tidier about that.
some scorpion modeling
Absolutely beautiful models! you make it look so simple…
Another great critter, like the steely blue coloration.
