Pixologic Release: Poser Scaler (PC & Mac)

I played with this and found a workaround. So here it is the workflow for creating Adaptiv Skins and make them scale correctly.

  • Load your base figure, for example V4
  • Use retopo to define a new mesh
  • Click on “Make adaptive skin” to create the mesh
  • Export the mesh by using the button in the Tool palette, this creates an OBJ that is
to big to fit the original base figure when loaded in Blender, DAZ Studio. Don’t worry
  • Re-import the OBJ just saved using the Import button in the Tool palette
  • Drop it on the document, go to edit mode, add V4 as a subtool to verify that
    the scale is correct
  • Make the necessary changes like using the Inflate brush to expand the skin to be on top of V4
  • Export the geometry by using PoserScaler. Voila! Start Blender/Studio/Poser and import your new geometry and it will fit just right.

Hope this helps

Since ZBrush 3.5, Poser Scaler forget folder and I have to navigate again and again for import and export.

Dorkati, try turning off Preferences > Misc > Use ZFolders. If that works then remember to store the Preferences (Ctrl + Shift + i).

Oh, thanks, will try it

Can we use the Poser Scaler in Zbrush 3.5?

OK, thanks. Can you tell me if all the alphas you selected were loaded into the alpha palette? I’ll try and sort this out for you.

Ok I just downloaded the Zbrush 3.5 R3 and poser scaler is not in the plugins menu. The website no longer has the option to download it. Am I missing something or did they forget something? LOL

No, Poser Scaler is not included because it is no longer necessary. ZBrush now exports OBJ with greater accuracy, so simply import and export your Poser OBJ directly.

Ok Marcus thanks.

THATS good information, and a great update! I think this is the first I’ve seen that mentioned anywhere!

great job on this, solves many annoying problems.
This feature alone worth a cheer!!!
Thank you.

Hi! I’m trying to solve a problem with ZBrush 3.5, but until then, I’ve reinstalled 3.1, but I can’t download the poser scaler anywhere! Does anyone know where I might find a link to the 3.1 version of the Poser Scaler?

Thanks!!!

All the plug-ins have been replaced by 3.5R. How do I get the plug-ins for 3.1 to 3.2 version of zbrush

Plugins for 3.1 are no longer available. You should update to ZBrush 3.5 R3.

Sorry to hear this. Oh well let me see if I can retrieve the files from old PC. 3.5R is not in the budget and a couple of users I know are rolling back to 3.1. So, maybe a legacy page should be aveliable. I’m sure Pixologic will think of something Thanks for your time.

Not in the budget? How can ‘free upgrade to registered users’ be not in the budget?

I really didn’t know it was free. So tired of adobe hitting you over the head for a 300 dollar upgrade or more. I stayed away from it because of that and just started to get into 3.1. I’m doing this tonight thank you I should’ve read the documentation. Good day…

I see from the main page that this is included as part of 3.5 r3? I can’t find it though. I’ve looked through the plug in folder.

A point in the right direction would be nice.

Thanks

The functionality is included automatically - there’s no need to scale Poser figures as OBJ files are imported/exported with greater accuracy in 3.5 R3.

Thanks. It’s just from the way it’s worded, I thought it was an actual plugin.
